So, as a bit of a boxing day 'gift' to myself, I figured I'd put the last four months of comics into my longbox. And now, the stupid thing is officially full.
After I'd done it, I looked at the small gap and thought, 'oh, I can still fit another week or two in there' and then my brain realised there was still a pile of Doctor Who comic books sitting on my desk which filled that gap up nicely. So, I guess now I'm going to have to get another one... now to find room for it.
Anyway, hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that Santa spoiled you rotten.
I've got about $100 dollars put aside for the comic books store now, so I guess all I have to do is decide what to spend it on. Another longbox would probably be a good idea, and finally investing in sleeves and backingboards probably. *sigh*
Finished watching the first season of Merlin today and also the Doctor Who Christmas special. Enjoyed them all immensley.
In regards to the Christmas special, steampunk FTW!
Don't really have much else to say, I think I need to rewatch it before I can think of anything else other than "cool" and "wow, Ten's hair looks good right now"
I'm a sucker for the sentiment of the episode, I always am with Christmas based things and I'll ignore a lot of things for my fluffy endings, so I forgive most of the things in here that people are griping about. Even if it wasn't a Christmas specially, I can generally ignore most things, because I'm very talented at suspending my disbelief, but when the giant cyber king started crushing sections of London and Morissey did his whole speech about the Doctor I was like "What? A steampunk robot crushed parts of London, how is this not in the history books? Is this some kind of AU!Doctor fic and I didn't read the header properly... wait... I'm not on LJ!"
Oh RTD...
P.S. My mum got a pet canary for Christmas. We named him Pertwee. *whistles innocently and tries to pretend I did not heavily influence that suggestion*
The little guy's yellow so my mum and I looked at each other when Dad first brought it home, trying to come up with a name. I grinned and said 'Rose?', mum laughed and said that's what she'd been thinking, then Dad pointed out it was a boy and we were all very dissapointed. We would have gone with 'Jack' but one of those in the house is more than enough. I almost had Adric, and I pointed out that yellow was Adric's colour, but mum decided it didn't sit right. So, Pertwee it is.
... Damn, just realised, we should have called hi, Wharf. Mum would have thought I'd meant Worf from Trek, but in my head, I secretly and smugly would have been thinking of Canary Wharf every time :D
