I'm partway through King's 11/22/63 (which is AMAZING so far). Got it sitting on the headboard. When Chris and I watch a scary movie, Kaylee usually heads into our room and watches one of her shows or plays with her toys. It occurred to me on the drive home that right now the kids don't care if I do things like turn the radio way up and sing along to Heart's "All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You". But someday . . . someday they will be in middle school.

And then my revenge for the current 4+ years without a full night's sleep will begin.

So the truck died when Chris was getting ready to go to work this morning, and so he ended up taking the van. Which meant I couldn't take Kaylee and Ian over to grandma and grandpa's the way I'd said I would last night. Then this happened:

And now Chris is teaching her how to say "Beep beep, Richie".

We were over at my parents', and getting ready to go back home. I called into the office, where Dad was letting Kaylee watch Looney Tunes, and told Kaylee to put her shoes on.

Kaylee: "Oh, dammit."
Mom: "Did I just hear what I thought I heard?"
