Received an email today at work, more or less attacking someone in my team for not doing something properly.

Upon investigation, discovered they'd changed to identical lines of code within a program, making the same change each time. This program had been 'sequestered' (for want of a better word) by another team developing something for our system. They alleged that this change not being communicated to them, and having to be retrofitted into their own version of the program, cost them a days work.

Two identical lines.

Needless to say, my reply was to the point.

I'm the first person to point out to someone when I think they've done something wrong. But nobody gets to have deadline problems at work, and try to pin the cause of those problems on someone in my team, when it's clearly not the case.

Grrrr. Don't mess.
