How not to promote yourself

Came home last night to find a letter addressed to me from Ray White real estate offering to do an evaluation and sell a property for me. The property in question is not for sale, in fact it has just been rented out. I have never dealt with Ray White real estate (for good reason) so I don't know how they got my details (although I'm guessing a title search).

I was initially annoyed at the blatent cold-mailing promotion by these guys. Then I read the letter and my annoyance was supplemented by great amusement. Let's just say that I have never seen a more unprofessional piece of correspondence. To illustrate, this is how the letter started:

"Hi, I'm [name]. I've been in real estate for 12 years and I am still obsessed with ALWAYS getting the BEST price for property".

Yep, the words were capitalised in the original letter and yes, the word "obsessed" was used. The letter continued in the same first-grader tone. There then followed "10 Hot Tips" for getting the best price for your property, all of which were of course blatently obvious and not so hot.

Is the guy insane (as well as obsessed)? Doesn't he realise that anyone who gets a letter like that will never again come within a ten mile radius of a Ray White office?

I am seriously considering responding to the letter with "10 Hot Tips for not coming across as an unprofessional dimwit".  Have to decide whether the amusement value of doing so will outweight the time required to do it.
