Even More Costuming Fun!
I just made the big trip to the surplus on my little Putt Putt today, which reminded me why I never usually go far or take too many left turns - it's fucking scary. Bigass pickup trucks and 18-wheelers scare the shit out of me and the roads here aren't friendly to bikes, powered or otherwise, either. Some of the bumps on the road sometimes make me think I'm seriously gonna crash over them one of these days, and there's the ever-present "invisible bike" fear too - I'm ever paranoid of the day someone fails to notice the little e-bike on the road ahead of them.
BUT ANYWAY.
Sans the STARS patch (yet to arrive in the mail), the vest (still in development, there is a possible commission for that in the works too), and a minor belt modification, my Rebecca Chambers costume is essentially done. I can do the belt modification tomorrow I'm thinking, which might take a bit of ninja sewing or whatever, but I'LL FIGURE IT OUT. If I had to put a percentage to this costume, it'd be somewhere around 90% done. I've come to terms with the fact I'll never be able to find a satisfactory (but cheap) Desert Eagle imitation gun to use, but I do have a toy M16 and hell, when you're shooting zombies, even that would do. Maybe I could even use my P90.
I think I'm gonna pick up a red bandanna somewhere for the helluvit, and I'll need to find a choker of some variety too. Shouldn't be too hard - I can combine it with my Curse of the Black Spot Amy Pond shopping trip.
