Beryl had been persistent with her desperate need to possess the prince of the golden lands.
His defiance angered her, the way that his deep blue eyes glared with resentment when her gaze would fall on him. There had only been one that could tame the barbarian’s heart, and it had been the daughter of the goddess of the moon whom he was forbidden to touch. When she died, the prince wept, and the queen of darkness laughed.
She turned him, darkened his soul. His calloused fingers touched her ghastly white skin, running through hair stained the color of blood. The prince who lived in the sun now became a recluse to the darkness. Midnight colored hair blended into shadows and tanned skin paled to near translucence. The transformation was death to his soul, and the dark queen would have seen this if she hadn’t been blinded by her own selfish desires. But then she never had time enough to realize this.
It was not her inability to please and satiate the dark entity Metallia that brought about her demise. It was the golden beauty that had became consumed by the ever increasing darkness that ended the bloody reign of the red headed witch.
Beryl died alone.
But her obsession still thrived.
Endymion became subservient to the new queen. He whispered her name as they laid in her bed, his body over hers, moaning as they moved in tandem. It was his dark hair that her fingers slid through, and his eyes - the color of the ocean after a storm - that she stared into. She became his master and he no longer had any free will left in him to do otherwise.
Kunzite became plagued with dreams of memories, but he was beyond being able to stop the events already put in motion. He did not love his prince. He no longer felt that he needed to protect the man that he once swore a blood allegiance too. Endymion had become nothing more than a trophy to the women who conquered this now barren planet.
So he stood face to face with his once golden prince, those dark blue eyes full of nothingness yet reflective of everything that the world was made of. Kunzite lifted his hand to the man’s chest, and at point blank, released the blast of energy that ended the life of the new queen’s consort. As Endymion fell to the ground, Kunzite felt the ground below his feet shudder with an ominous rumble.
In the distance he could hear the angry shrieks of his queen, but the sorrow of her sounds could not penetrate his cool exterior. He would share his lover with no man even if it meant that he would no longer have her as his own.
He knew that his fate would be once again sealed by the unwitting actions of his Prince.
