Yay for leaving job. Weird to say, but I am happy for you. You are great at cover letters, have, if I remember, gave me good feedback on a few of mine in the past. And glad to hear about the cat adoptions.
I tried to email you at your regular email but bounced back. I'm coming to NYC in April. Email me with a good email and we can discuss details. As I mentioned, I'll be staying in Fort Greene, but we need to do some fun stuff . . . by which I mainly mean hang out in person somewhere.
I'm glad you're getting the chance to reconnect with yourself and your kitty rescue cohorts and fandom. Cover letters and jobs will sort themselves out soon, I hope, but it's great that you have this breathing space for recovery time---and that you're out of that hellhole!
These days I guess my media happiest place is surprisingly The Mentalist. Awesome characters, great writing, a slash pairing I'm suddenly keen on... I'm mostly bemused by Lost, somewhat disgruntled by SPN, and lightly amused by House and Castle and NCIS. I'm still enjoying White Collar and Leverage, too.

I guess The Mentalist is my happiest media place right now. Awesome characters, good writing, a slash pairing I'm suddenly fond of... I'm mostly bemused by Lost, exasperated by SPN, lightly tickled by NICS and House and Castle, and ambivalent about Human Target. I'm still enjoying White Collar, too. I'd really like Leverage and True Blood and Doctor Who back right NOW, though.
Ah, The Mentalist. I'm not watching that, but maybe I should. I have a full plate of procedurals, which is why I haven't gone there, done that. Except for one ep which executrix wanted to see because Sean Maher was in it. Can you blame her?
I'm also watching Lost - loving it and happy it's over, too. All the other ones you listed as well! Oh Doctor Who! That will be fun when it comes back. I need a little good silly sci fi in my life.
Welcome back to our world. I'm sorry the job went all sideways, but it sounds like you managed it with as much dignity as anyone could hope for in the circs.
I'm all about Fringe this year, which frankly has hardly any fic that isn't all Peter/Olivia. I think Walter is what makes the show special, but I suspect he's also really tough to write. I haven't tried, but I suppose I should. Anyway, new eps return on April 1.
I'm not much of one for RPF, but maybe I should go check out the Adam Lambert. This year's AI is mostly strong on the girls, so I'm not seeing big opportunities among the Top 12. I think Siobhan Magnus is this year's Adam.
You're absolutely right about Fringe. It's all about Walter and Peter, Walter and Olivia, Walter and Astrid. But not in a sexual way. I think you should try to write something - I would read!
I'm not a fan of AI, but fellow fangirls sold me on the love of the Adam. They were very insistent and I believe I was tied up at one point. ;)
If I were going to ship anybody on Fringe, it would have been Astrid/Charlie. But that's not going to happen now. It's a very dense, rich 'verse, and I don't feel like I have nearly enough familiarity to write more than flash fic about it so far. (I have done a few of those for cereta's Grading Hell Theater.) Must think more.

Can't wait to see you here in April... I won't have any $$ but I'll presumably have free time.

I can't think myself, so if you could, I would cheer heartily from the sidelines! April 1 seems kinda far away now. (I need a Fringe icon.)
