(no subject)
so, with everything happening the last few days, i'm late posting this meme from fannish5 (which I only found thanks to juliet-demarcus -- i can't believe i didn't know the community existed!).
Name five qualities you always find attractive in fictional characters.
and the winners are:
1. Snarkiness/sarcasm. The best thing a fictional character can do to make me fall madly for them is have an acerbic wit.
2. An arrogant swagger, that which usually comes from the snarkiness. See above. :P
3. Fierce protectiveness. That hero thing that makes a character look out for other characters? Makes me swoon. I know, I know, totally unfeminist of me.....it's not just a guy thing, though, does that make it better? LOL
4. Flaws. Perfection just doesn't cut it for me. I will only love the head cheerleader if she's pregnant with her best friend's boyfriend's baby. :P
5. A dark past. (Is that a characteristic?) It doesn't matter to me if they're still dark or if they've made their way 100% back to the light, but striving for redemption is always good. Something to recover from is better. And a thorny demeanor because of walls and defense mechanisms galore is absolutely lovely. Now, I don't want a character to suddenly be struck with a dark secret from their past as a plot contrivance -- that cloud or shadow or whatever is something that needs to be built in from day one. But definitely, definitely, a character has to have some darkness in his/her depths. Some depth, really.
okay. that's it, i guess. i know these are all really similar and whatever (and you know my emo icon right there is totally because of all of the above, lol), but they're all i can really come up with for now. so share, and play away.
in other news: i'm feeling okay. i'm moving, that's good, and everything that needed to get resolved today pretty much got resolved. we'll see what that translates to in the morning, though -- i'm freaking out at the prospect that some of these aches & pains might actually get worse tomorrow rather than better (which, i know, is a real possibility). but, as with everything else these last two days, we'll see.
and, other than the fact that my Veronica Mars dvds should be here tomorrow, that's all for today!
