This is like, my third entry in what, two days now? Normally that would be nothing, but lately, that's a frickin' record. (Don't get used to it.)
Damn you, Veronica Mars, for reminding me how much I loveloveLOVE "Ventura Highway". (The song, not the road. I've never been there. :\ ) It's basically on repeat in my head, which means that it's basically on repeat on my ipod/itunes. (Sorry,
last.fm stalkers. It's gonna be a boring week. Hehehe.) It will be on my next mix. Which may actually be forming itself sometime soon. After all, I never did make an xmas mix this year.
Speaking of Veronica Mars, I totally caved and bought the season 1 DVDs today. What can I say?! They were on sale at
55% off at amazon! How can you resist that? ;) Also: two new icons. They're probably pretty crappy, but I made them myself, so be nice. :P
We've reached that time of year when I somehow freeze my ass off in the middle of the night, even though it's 60 degrees outside. I have no idea why or how it happens, but it does, *every* *single* *damn* *year*. Also, did I mention how I bought sheet music on Wednesday? While I was wandering around after the conference. I had gone to the Lincoln Center Barnes & Noble to look for the new issue of The Advocate (TR Knight's supposed to be on the cover, dammit!) to no avail, and the Juilliard Bookstore was right there and calling my name. I was looking for the big book of Paris Conservatoire pieces I'd had when I was younger (and which is now the only book of music I can't find)....but I can't really remember any of the pieces in it. I think Rabaud's Solo de Concours might've been in it, but I don't remember. Messager, maybe? Oh, who the hell knows. The point is, I remember what it looks like, and that's about it. So I went to the bookstore looking for it, but didn't find it. (It's probably out of print -- god knows I must've bought it like, 10, maybe even 15 years ago now. Christ, I'm old.) But I did find a copy of Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, which I never owned my own copy of. Richard just copied his for me. It was only $10, so now I do. Although, I can't remember whether it's in the right key. I think I'd need a keyboard for that (or at least a tuning fork, lol). Oh, well. (As a side note, I apparently *can*, in fact, still sing a 440 A at whim. Go figure.) The point is, I bought sheet music for the first time in....years. At least actual sheet music. I bought a score about a year ago now, but it wasn't actual music that I could like, go to a piano and play. So, uh, yeah. Random much. Also, I bought manuscript paper. I haven't the slightest idea what I'm going to do with it, but it somehow made me feel better, buying it. (And if THAT doesn't say just about everything there is to say right there, I don't know what else you're looking for from me, folks.)
I think on that note, I'm heading off. If you haven't checked out
that video yet, you should really get on that, cause it's frickin' AWESOME. For realz. Also good: Weekend Update's
What's in a Word?. It's about nipples and panties. Yes, you read that right. It's awesome.
And that's it.
mwah!
