Hsin Yeow's thoughts: Here And Now
When I met Mark and Jasmine to discuss their plans for the wedding, I asked Mark to tell me his proposal story.
This was what he said:
"I sent an SMS to Jasmine just before she was due to fly to Bangkok. I knew she wasn't feeling well, so I asked her to rest the very moment she reached the hotel. What she didn't know was that I was already in Bangkok waiting for her.
I had flown there earlier, and planned to surprise her with flowers and the ring. But I had some difficulty finding a suitable florist. I went to 4 different ones before I found one that I liked.
Jasmine sent me an SMS when she was at the hotel, so I knew it was time for me to make my appearance. I rang the doorbell, and ducked beneath the peephole so she couldn't see me. She probably thought it was super-efficient room service. When she opened the door, she was so surprised to see me she burst into tears. She also said yes."
The proposal story was told in the form of an animation clip which was shown before the couple first entered the ballroom.
And it marked the start of a beautiful celebration. The sound system at Conrad was excellent, as usual. Bevlyn and I were touched by the warm applause and support from the guests, who sent us congratulatory messages and even two glasses of red wine over. We also had several young fans who surrounded us while we were performing, and asked us questions when we were taking a break.
Our performance ended with a special request from one of the tables: 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple). Indeed, it is simple to love when you've found the right person. Congratulations, Mark and Jasmine! May you enjoy a lifetime of wedded bliss!
