one thing i never expected was the effect the cold is having on my back! you would think that the metal being in my body would mean it stayed warm, but that is definitely not the case. it gets so cold some mornings walking to the train that i can feel it. aaaa! hehe, but hey it's better than a wheelchair i suppose.

work at the mart is going great. i love being able to take the elevator down three floors and have starbucks/jamba juice/ argo tea/ mc d's/ post office/ potbelly subs inside the same building. not to mention the train stop being in there as well so i don't have to walk from there. it's excellent, and not as hard on my budget as i had expected. I think it's the mental awareness that the things are there and not so much using them. though jamba does have dollar oatmeal on wednesday, and it's nice not to have to make a second trip to the post office at the end of the day. too bad the b daltons closed! but i was able to get a good book on clearance there before it did, it's called mysteries of the medieval world. it is fascinating. i am normally not one for straight history in a book but i love it! lots of cool pictures too, some really pretty illumination on the sides of the pages etc.

things with s are going really well too. he and L came to visit last weekend for twelfth night and we had a fun time. friday morning he and i got to go to chinatown and shop for my sister/mom/g-ma's bday gifts. i also found the store that sells my hat that i found! it's on belmont only a few blocks away and they had a whole wall of them! monsters and almost any animal you can think of! L got one that looks like a kitty. we tried on tons--moose, rooster, squid, shark, teddy bear, like 5 different monsters, owl, polar bear, lion...i stuck with my monkey that i found though. made me feel better to see it was a store for grown ups though! we got some cheap belly rings too. i can't change mine yet because i just had it redone on halloween. still, i got two cute ones!

we also went to see the imaginarium of dr parnassus, which was excellent! there's another movie playing at the indie theater called a town called panic, french claymation. it looks hilarious. i am trying to convince c to go with me this weekend. this is going to also be my spring cleaning weekend, just down time. next weekend i am going to cleveland for the cleftlands event, and for two weekends after that i also have very far events, candlemas and val day. so i am going to cherish this weekend! today i worked ot and made about 300 dollars, so that should cover it i hope.

even though i know it isn't realistic i am hoping to hear from one of my grad programs soon. i just want to know where i am going to end up! i've been writing like mad and i can't wait to do it for a 'living' (that and teach). keep your fingers crossed for me!!
