Well, life goes on as normal here. I joined a gym because the PT exercises I was doing at home are not cutting it. They gave me a good deal on some personal training sessions and I don't want to hurt myself so I took them up on it (them being xsport fitness). I met with her this morning; her name is ashley and she's going to chiropractic school. this is a relief to me.I am meeting with her again tomorrow morning, as mornings seem to be the only time we're going to be able to make it work. So, I'll be in the gym at 7. Not sure whether to be glad or sad; it's better to wake up that way than with coffee I guess.
No news from a single grad program yet. Maybe this means I made it through preliminary cuts? Not sure. I guess if they knew they didn't want me i would know that.
Busy few weekends ahead. This one I am going to cleveland for s's parent's 80th bday (holy cow! 80!). The weekend of the 20 is my brother's birthday, and the weekend after that is Mike and Jen's engagement party in btown, so I'll be in Indiana the second half of the month. The weekend of the 13 is my only 'free' weekend but i'm sure between now and then something will come up. Work is going fine, I'm actually on my lunch right now. It's also warming up here, allegedly going to be mid 40's this week!
For those on my f-list who like to read (AKA everyone) I started reading that percy jackson and the olympiads book series, because my friend at work was reading them. They're not half bad, easy to read and amusing. I love mythology and all that so I was into it from the start. Not exactly Shakespeare, not even as complex as Harry Potter or His Dark Materials, but good. I also read Duma Key by Stephen King, which is MUCH more complex than Harry Potter and I loved it (though maybe not as much as HP. and that reference is ending now i promise). I would highly recommend Duma Key. I'm reading Under the Dome now, because there can't be SK books in the world I haven't read, and it's good in a different way. Very very reminiscent of the Stand; he writes that he started it in the mid 70's and it's certainly similar to his earlier work. As I move forward (it's over 1000 pages) it will probably evolve a little. Hasn't pulled me in yet though, I haven't picked it up in two days.
Writing a lot too, on a very old short story too which pleases me. I'm starting to think I have the makings of an anthology tucked away in one or two page snippets in my laptop. Similar themes, on death, grieving, and the quality of mercy (not strained), redemption, forgiveness...we'll see how it evolves. I'd need at least six stories I feel like. Oh, speaking of laptop; I'm getting a MASSIVE tax return and intend to buy a new laptop. S showed me a good website to get them cheap. I am also hoping to be able to splurge and get a new tattoo soon. A BIG one. :-)
Well, lunch is almost over. See you all in like...a month! HA.
