yes, i am still alive. doing really well, actually. work is going swimmingly, i found out last week that i am getting transitioned to a permanent hire from my current temp status. i am also going to be allowed to transfer to the downtown office at the beginning of next month. good news because instead of a 30-one hour drive (one-way!!! with a toll booth!!!) , i will have a 10 minute walk and a 20-30 minute train ride. cheaper, healthier for myself and the environment.

finished all my grad school apps, down to the gre/transcripts and writing samples. i applied 5 places. U of Michigan, U of Virginia, U of Florida, IU and Notre Dame. I won't hear until April-ish. Here's hoping I get at least one good offer!! I can totally see myself at any of those places so now it is just a waiting game.

started physical therapy two weeks ago now (so i have had three sessions, i go twice a week) and it is hard but constructive. the days I don't do my personal exercises I feel it. christa is my PTs name and she made me do pushups last thursday.....i used to be pretty okay at them (not like a robot or anything but i was doing like 30 at a time) and i was close to tears after one set of 10. noted, self. but i am feeling great. i am starting to come into a place where i don't even really feel or notice the implant like 85% of my day. it feels wonderful.

i have started dating someone. he is wonderful too. he lives seven hours and two states away, but we'll get around it i think. my brother is coming to stay with me for thanksgiving because my dad is going to texas, and the two of them are potentially going to meet then. so we'll see what my family thinks. though i think my brother is already sold on the idea of someone who home brews beer and mead. don't know that i will get an honest opinion out of that kid.

on that topic,my siblings are doing well too. cody is bringing a slew of SAT practice exams with him to visit next week and we're going to do them in theory. i think i have a calculator around here somewhere. he takes that at the start of december. he still has no car which i feel kinda bad about for sucking up all the car money, but oh well. my sister is cute as heck all over facebook with her boyfriend, and starting to ask about getting her learner's permit too. she also asked for me to bring her to an SCA event when she comes for the summer, which was exciting and sweet.

ya. off to bed now, PT in the am. wish me luck with the impending chicago winter! aaa!!!
