Today, while watching a biography of Johnny Cash, this afternoon, I was met with the sight of the very cabin I have been writing in Guernica.

With the exception of being a little (very little) longer along the front elevation and being two or three porch-steps lower to the ground, this is exactly what I have envisaged.

Well! What I consider to be 'Act 1' of Guernica is now complete. It won't be posted until the rest of the story is finished, but I feel like I've reached the crest of a mountain (aptly enough) and it's all downhill from here. I've already passed 20k words. Been quiet for a couple of days. Busy busy. Mostly writing Guernica, but also working on reviving the old website.

So, I was looking around at maps of Idaho for the LCF and I clicked on a thumbnail of a promising-looking landscape. I SWEAR TO GOD that this was not visible on the thumbnail, as the thumbnail was about 50px square.

Notice anything?

Again, I swear that this was a sheer coincidence.

The Log Cabin Fic, now named Guernica as per yesterday's post, has been absolutely stampeding ahead. In 24hrs, I have written more than 4,100 words and I'm about to get back to it. The fic seems to be coming really easily - I haven't had to sit and ponder too much. If anything, I can rely on my own knowledge and the clear vision of the scenes so ( Read more... )
