I feel I should announce that the Log Cabin Fic is now officially too long to fit into one LJ post. :|
I don't know that I'm even halfway through it yet.
He knew from the other man's silence that he was trying to formulate the exact question of why without actually asking him outright. He'd been doing that for the last two days; asking around the question he wanted the answer to. The more he did it, the more Jay found himself wanting to just tell him and put them both out of their misery, but he couldn't. It didn't matter if Adam was ex-military - if anything it made it worse that he was, because he'd understand the importance of the rules he was breaking by opening his mouth - he couldn't explain everything satisfactorily, so there was no point in telling him half-truths and calling it a legitimate explanation. It was better to just say nothing.
