So, it's been a while.
I'm ok, in case anyone's wondering.
What brought me back? I do still check my email from time to time, and someone sent me an email wondering when I was going to update one of my Inuyasha fics...from DeviantArt, of all places. Um, wow, people are still reading my stuff? o.0 And yearn for updates? o.0
So I decided to procrastinate on work for once, since I actually have the time to do so now, and take a peek at how everyone is doing in LJ land.
And that's when I learned that...the Inuyasha manga...has FINALLY ended!!!!! *spazzes*
It's about time!!
I haven't read any of the chapters in MONTHS. But instead of catching up, I read the last two chapters. Personally, I'm satisfied with the ending (though, as many other people have mentioned, there was no kiss! But then again I guess a kiss to seal the end of the manga would just be way too predictable and cliche). A lot of people are disgruntled over the Kagome-wasting-three-years-going-to-school bit. Why? As far as I understand it, she was with her family in her world when Inuyasha all-of-a-sudden jumped back down the well without her, because he felt bad about her family missing her. Meaning she didn't choose to stay in the modern world--it just happened. So was she supposed to wait by the well day after day doing nothing else? She had to do something. School it was! It's a good thing, too, because she ended up having to wait three years! And, of course, the well re-opened coincidentally at her graduation :P I must be missing something. *scratches head*
Sango's son having to deal with two older sisters. I pity him.
Work keeps me busy. I meet advertising deadlines for newspapers, radio, signs, etc. constantly, which requires me to work late often. If I didn't have to wait on other people, who ALWAYS give me what I need to make deadline at the absolute last second, it would be a lot less stressful. *sigh* But at least there's overtime. I bask in the overtime.
Nothing much has changed with Husband except that his health seems to be improving a little. Tyler, however, is growing in leaps and bounds. He's bossy, but he's also sensitive. He's shy around strangers but loves to make people laugh. He likes to be helpful but totally overdoes it all the time. His favorite thing to do is to pretend to be a super hero (more specifically, a character from WoW :P )
Fandom involvement: I've all but left the Inuyasha fandom. It just doesn't interest me anymore. Funny how this happens when the manga has finally finished. Then again, I seem to only get involved in fandoms of media that is still ongoing, even though when I plan out multi-chapter stories I always long for some sort of closure so that I know I'm not wasting my time writing a giant AU fic.
Speaking of which, I'm preparing for my debut in the Warcraft fandom. It's a unique fandom because there aren't droves of people writing fanfic and drawing fanart while they wait for the newest episode/chapter/movie. Instead, the somewhat small fandom is comprised of people that care enough about the game's storyline to expand upon it outside of the game, while the vast majority of the fans simply play. This means that the quality of fanart and fanfic for this fandom is a bit higher than of other fandoms--in most cases. So, I'm super-nervous about posting anything anywhere involving Warcraft. My biggest worry--getting the lore (the game's plotline, which is MASSIVE) wrong, which is a big no-no to fandom elitists. Meh.
I don't play nearly as much as I used to, partially due to time constraints, but also because I don't have the interest I used to. I'd rather catch up on the fandom and write about it rather than play it (probably because I'm a much stronger writer than I am a player, lol).
For those that play or are interested in playing, how you can find me and my progress:
* Celenah -- lvl 65 night elf druid -- Fenris
* Berien -- lvl 62 blood elf rogue -- Thorium Brotherhood (He was once Barian on Fenris, but I can't stand Fenris horde-side, so he was moved to the awesome Thorium Brotherhood, a server I just adore. I had to change his name in order to move him there, as "Barian" is taken by some lvl 4 human priest that hasn't been played since February 2006 *cries*)
* Genesa -- lvl 37 blood elf priest -- Fenris (ties to Fenris allow me to tolerate the horde side on that server)
Yes, I've been playing for over a year and still have no lvl 70 character. Whatever.
Other random stuff: My coworkers are obsessed with Facebook. I've been contemplating jump-starting my facebook account. I never get around to it, though.
Fell in love with the anime 12 Kingdoms. Husband adores Great Teacher Onizuka.
So yeah. That's about all from me. How is everyone else doing? Forgive me for not getting a chance to post comments!
