yay! i was supposed to have a lengthy teleconference with a major client but turns out they rescheduled. in anticipation of a very busy afternoon, i had whipped up a pretty stellar article for this month's real estate journal and finished the majority of my other work before noon. but now that i don't have the client meeting to deal with, this means the rest of the day is going to be relatively stress-free, woot!
i'm going to a friend's birthday party in the evening and i'm really looking forward to it since it'll be the last time i see all my pals before i leave for dhaka. the original plan was to go out for dinner, crash at the birthday gal's house, get inebriated and just have a ton of fun. i've decided to just come home after dinner though b/c i plan on dyeing my hair tomorrow, i want to get some packing done, and i'd like to see
the bf in the evening. at any rate, i hope i still have a wicked time at the party.
btw, if any of you are interested in watching me in action, here is the official video of ME covering arnob's concert in toronto. remember the one where i interviewed audience members before the show and organisers at the end of the event? you can see me right in the beginning where my co-host and i introduce ourselves, and in different parts throughout the video clip. there are some portions in bengali but the majority of it's in english. everyone's saying i look completely at ease and like a pro, but i personally think i look like a dweeb. my eyes look shifty, i tells you! oh well. the video's plastered all over the internet - youtube, facebook and the myriad of bangladeshi music forums - so i guess viewers all over the world will simply have to get used to my suspicious eye movements
remember how i mentioned a couple entries ago about spending a wad of cash on gifts for the family and myself? yesterday, there was a 30% discount on all items at the two stores i bought clothing from - old navy AND the gap. so i promptly took my bags of purchases, returned everything and re-purchased them. saved $50 in the process and ended up getting a cuter skirt for myself and an additional top! yay for taking advantage of sales for once! i'm looking forward to wearing the skirt and top i bought; i'm even considering wearing them on my journey to bangladesh since it'll be nice to lounge about the plane, heathrow and eventually dhaka int'l wearing uber-fashionable clothing

1) i decided to try out lj archive thanks to slightlytookish, cleolinda and bryoneybrynn's posts. of course the latest victim to the russian spambots is none other than the magnificent shoebox_project, and i actually clicked on the link being advertised on the comm like a complete fool! i hope my journal doesn't get hacked now..
i freaked out that lj archive wasn't working correctly b/c the earliest entry it kept showing me was definitely NOT my first post on lj. weirdly enough, it was about an ex..well, not ex-bf since
abbey's the first and only, but the first guy i was ever truly serious about before i'd met
abbey. i had posted an msn conversation the two of us randomly had a few months after
the bf and i had already been together, and i had wanted to make a point about the guy's hypocrisy and his seeming inability to leave me alone even though he was the one who was a completely lily-livered douchebag about the entire thing.
anyway, the point is that i didn't want THAT to be the starting point of my archive
but luckily enough, i had the absolutely brilliant idea of restarting the programme and clicking the sync button and voila! all 983 entries and associated comments have been saved
2) janeowbeth organised the journal exchange i signed up for but she's been completely MIA for the last couple of months, and the person i sent my journal to either provided a bogus address or didn't want to accept the package so it was sent back to me. what a waste of $20! so, i want to know if anyone would be interested in a JOURNAL EXCHANGE. whereby we put in a little something - poems, photos, writing, drawings, whatever you want - on a couple of pages and mail the journal to the next person on the list. if you're interested, please leave a comment to this entry and i will try to set something up!

why do ppl apologise when they post a fic search on harrydraco? it annoys me to no end. STOP APOLOGISING. just ask whatever it is that you cannot remember or would like recs for! seeing all these fic search posts that begin with "i'm sorry but..", or "please don't hate me but.." and so on and so forth just GETS ME REALLY RILED UP.

1) so i had made note of pushdragon's 3rd installment of her tale of horns tale [or what i like to call "the h/d calendar story"] in the email draft that i store all my lj-related links and info, but hadn't had a chance to read it until last night. and holy fuck. it's just brilliant, as ALWAYS! unfortunately this 3rd part is also her last h/d story, which makes me very sad indeed.
i know very few other authors who can write such prolific accounts of what technically is pwp [but in reality is so much more]. i mean seriously - your libido needs a massive jolt? you want a draco with acidic humour and a harry that is endearing and powerful all in one? you want to be dazzled by mastery of the english language? just read one of her stories. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
2) lessons in scheming and seduction by tomatoe18: h/d and also harry/scorpius. so i think it's safe to say that scorpius won at being the most hilarious, ingenious, snarky, crafty, scorchingly hot and all other manners of good things from all the submissions i read from hp_cross_fest. his characterisation in this particular fic definitely does not deviate from this assessment. just read it and see!
3) sensible with an a by lotus_lizzy: hilariously cracky, a lot like faithwood's work!
4) speaking of which, here is faithwood's 2nd set of 'b-dabbles' as she's calling them. features h/d, h/d/snape and h/d/ginny. all hot and funny and sweet!
