i am updating from the homestead! got home last night around 9:30pm since the flight was delayed - apparently the wrong plane had been sent to the phoenix airport, so we had to wait for the correct one to show up and then be "reconfigured". i didn't mind since i was just chilling with the coworkers. watched x-files: i want to believe and 1/3 of wall-e. the x-files flick was not so good, and keep in mind that i watched that show religiously every week for over 10 years. wall-e, on the other hand, was amazing! totally made me all emotional and i've seen only the first 30 minutes! i was trying my best not to cry b/c i was sitting with the biggest boss, heh! i'm such a sap

upon my arrival in toronto, i got through customs without any hassles and found my luggage as soon as i stepped up to the carousel. did have to wait out in the cold for a bit though but that's alright since my pal safwan was nice enough to pick me up. i can't believe how chilly it is here right now! we only had a high of 4°C all day and there were wet flurries, insane! i am definitely not looking forward to winter arriving in full force since i suffered a lot last year. having to travel to and from work on public transportation during canada's worst winter since 1976 was definitely not an enjoyable feat, since it involved having to wait out in the bitter cold for long periods of time. and apparently this winter is going to be worse! *shudders at the thought*

i was quite tired at work today. the next few weeks are going to be insane so that's one other thing i'm not looking forward to. at least i'll be escaping to the motherland on november 22nd so i'll have 3 weeks of respite, but i've a feeling that the big boss and my managers will be dumping extra projects on me either before i go or after i return to make up for it
speaking of my superiors, my manager sasha told me on our last night in phoenix that he'd been trying to figure out who i reminded him of for the longest time, and finally realised that it was ashley tisdale's character maddie from the tv show the suite life of zack & cody. he told me it was meant as a compliment and it was my "bubbly personality" that made him think of that, and after i told him i sometimes watch that show, he grinned and stated "well, i'm not surprised". all of this was brought on by the fact that he'd somehow procured a box of pops/snaps [which are little pouches that you throw on the ground to get a loud bang, much like these ones] and was throwing them around the hotel to scare colleagues. i was the most excited when he gave me one, since i hadn't played with these things since i was 10 or younger. so he gave me the entire box and i was pretty giddy and that prompted his comment. SO! my question to the flist is: IS HE CORRECT? do i remind YOU of maddie? please let me know!

i have caught up with the flist and tried to comment on most things. like i mentioned earlier, if there are some awesomesauce things that i ought to check out, comment! i noticed that a lot of you are quite pissed off with the new lj profile page. i'd been beta-testing it for over a month so i'm used to it now, although i did send them negative feedback as soon as i'd implemented it. i guess i can deal with it since it could be much worse, but they should give users the option to opt out or try different layouts.

i tried my best to complete last week's challenge on 10lbchallenge to drink 8 glasses of water per day, but the trip made it difficult. i still drank more liquids than i usually would so at least that's something! as for this week's challenge, here goes:-
