I will post a vacation update soon...

This, WWOOF.org however, is what I am considering for a vacation in the near future. To bring the family or not to bring the family is the question. I'm also going to arrange for a home exchange with a family in southern England, so we can more easily access the continent and visit France.

An Eagle Scout candidate is doing his community project by painting a mural at my school with is family. This is him (Zack) and his sisters Grace (blue shirt) and Claire (orange shirt). Our school garden had a produce stand at the Creswell Farmer's market today and we felt SO proud. 
LOVE.

I harvested so much lettuce following old hippie's advice that I have 4 gallon sized ziploc bags jammed full of lettuces in my fridge. I think the larger lettuce leaves will be best in a stir fry, because raw they taste, well, bad. They're beyond bitter ( Read more... )

This old hippie knows a thing or two. I'm totally following his advice. Sorry to say, I think I have let too much of my lettuce get big (the ones that aren't meant to be big) and they are now more suited to being cooked.

I just watered the backyard garden at home and I'm struck with how fortunate I have been this year to spend so much time in the dirt at home and at school. I am literally living my dream come true.
