Saw one of my old elementary/high school friends again while shopping this afternoon. He's diabetic, WAY overweight, and was using one of the stores motorized carts. He was with his twin sons. He's no longer working.

And I thought I was in bad shape, with my high blood pressure, occasional swallowing issues, and being "a few pounds" overweight.

Either this was a cheap belt to begin with, or my body is telling me I'm getting too fat...

I've lost about 25 pounds since mom moved in. Probably from eating REAL food for a change, instead of microwavable stuff. She's a good cook!

Methinks I need to buy some new pants soon... can BARELY button the ones I currently have!

Looking at this archived picture, I'm amazed how much Eastwood, my cat, has balloned out in the past eight years!

Everything went fairly well at my twice-yearly check-up for my blood pressure. Lab work the week before looked good, cholesterol and sugar levels good. Only thing I got fussed at by the doctor about was my weight. Don't have any scales here at the house, so only time I get weighed is during doctor visits. Just poked another notch in my belt. Yesterday, it was raining, and my pants and shoes got a bit soaked (need to invest in a good raincoat and boots, the provided poncho at work doesn't work well).
