Personally, I think ALL churches should be taxed. They are getting tax-free money, and it's not ALL going toward "needy" people. There is a church in West Monroe which built a HUGE building to replace their old one, complete with large video monitors on the "stage", and they have a "thrift store" they pay for ads to run on local TV. Got "nostalgic" this time of evening, re-listening to the digital conversions I've done of the old "Tape and Record Show Enterprises" fake radio series made in the 1980's. Now that they are digitized, and won't lose anything fidelity wise being copied, like the original cassettes did, and I have those copies on multiple drives, no fear of wearing ( Read more... )

An elderly woman called "The Tech Guy" radio show with a problem with her email. That got me to thinking that, no matter how much I've tried, I've never been able to get mom interested in ANYTHING having to do with computers or the internet.

Umm, no. We "ALL" don't. Only time I've ever listened to music on a phone is when I'm put on "Hold" when calling a business.

They are talking about screens in the dashboard of vehicles on "The Tech Guy" podcast/radio show. I don't NEED a freggin' "screen" on my dashboard. I just need my vehicle to get me from "point A" to "point B" without issues, and my 1998 Ford Ranger does that fine.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I just can't see spending hundreds of dollars for a freggin' cellphone. This occurs to me every time one of the technology podcasts I watch starts talking about them. The panel on the "This Week in Tech" podcast were talking about "touch screens". I casually mentioned in the IRC chat that I've never owned a touch screen device. Someone in the chat asked me, "What about your phone?"
