It's a damp, icy mess outside today. The area is under an ice storm warning. Schools are closed. Trees falling over roads. Lots of roads closed.

The trees in the front yard are accumulating ice. And to think, it was in the 70'sF a couple days ago!

I know the weather here is peanuts compaired to what some folks on my friends list have to deal with, but things pretty much shut down here in the south when we get a coat of ice over everything. Had to hit my mailbox a couple of times with my fist to get the door open to put my outgoing mail in it this morning...

In the January 8th post, you may remember I mentioned the weather service was predicting ice, sleet, and snow for yesterday. Well, we got the ice and sleet, but I never saw one snowflake here at the house. Just enough ice and sleet for the parish school board to cancel classes for today, so Andrew got a three-day weekend.
