Went outside a while ago to roll the garbage can out to the road, since it's usually picked up early on Wednesday morning. There was an old rug in our ditch. Not sure if someone purposely threw it there, or if it might have blown out the back of a vehicle. Anyway, went into the damp ditch, picked it up, and tossed it in with the rest of the garbage

Knock on door this morning. Guy with summons for renter's girlfriend to appear in court, couldn't get anyone to answer door knock at trailer, even though renter's truck is parked outside. Gave us the summons to give to her, from Monroe City Court. Something about "following too close", "no insurance", and "failure to appear". She's supposed to ( Read more... )

Had to flag down the Waste Management truck on its way back up the road this morning. They only emptied ONE of the two cans I had set out. Guy said he didn't see the other can. Guess he's BLIND!

Apparently, me having the old, shorter garbage can next to the new, taller one, had nothing to do with raccoons getting into it a couple of days ago. Went to put a piece of mail in the box this morning, saw garbage scattered behind moms car. Damn raccoons got into the NEW garbage can for the first time last night. Might have been MY fault though. Had to move the cans to get the mowers out yesterday, and there were footprints on TOP of the shorter can. I had been keeping them a distance from each other, but was so pooped after doing the yard yesterday, I forgot to move the cans back. So ( Read more... )

Since getting the new garbage can, the critters haven't managed to get into the trash again. HOWEVER, it seems they have been TRYING. Noticed paw prints on the lower half of the new can. Does this look like a raccoon print? Does to me...

Since I had to get up VERY early to get the garbage out by the road this morning, in order to keep whatever critters that have been getting into it from doing so, I went to Lowe's a little later and acquired a new can, hopefully this one will be more difficult for animals to get into. Old one on the left, new one on the right...

Lid was off the outside garbage can AGAIN this morning. Bags inside the can chewed through even MORE. Replaced bags, put cans in utility room. Garbage pickup is Wednesday. I usually put cans out by the road the day before, but might just have to get up around 5am Wednesday and put them out, since the pickup is NEVER at the same time of day every ( Read more... )

Some damn animal got into one of the outside garbage cans last night, tore open the bag in it. Ants ALL over the place!

Sprayed it heavily with ant spray, put lid back on. Will wait till morning to replace bag in it, maybe by then all (or most) of the ants will be dead!
