Well my swollen eyelid was basically back to normal by monday morning, which was nice. Though I've only actually dared to put my lenses back in today. All is normal on the eye front anyways and I finally got my 6 month supply of lenses through the post. Yatta! Monday morning we all went to the dentist and despite my usual trepidations I actually got an 'all good and well' for once. I had nothing more done than a bit of poking around. Phew! Though I get the full teeth cleaning thing when I go for my next 6 month check up but meh, tis 6 months away, I can deal with that. We created havoc in Morrisons afterwards cos none of us had eaten anything so we were all starved. Unfortunately for us everybody and his mother was also in Morrisons cafe. Joy! Twas alright though and we got our food shopping done afterwards.
Tuesday was fairly non-descript. Can't really remember doing too much. Read some of my book in the garden as the sun put in a rare appearance and in the evening I sat and watched the Liverpool match, which was fairly disappointing as we lost 1 nil. Didn't matter though as our 3-1 win in the first leg saw us through to the Champions League group stages.
Today hasn't seen me do much as it's been chucking it down with rain all day, but I did get some stuff through the post which has made me realise just how close the start of uni is now. I got my first week schedule through in a massive brown envelope (it was seriously big, dunno why it needed to be that big to hold a few A4 sheets, meh). Its got me excited and wanting to know this, that and the other, so I guess I'll carry on under a cut, hehe.
So the first week schedule enlightened me on the what, where and when questions I had about the enrolment process and other things.
-Monday we get a welcome talk with our tutor and course guides and unit forms handed out.
-Tuesday it doesn't look like I need to go in (will haveta double check that though).
-Wednesday is the official enrolment in the afternoon (I have to go to the earliest one cos of my surname initial, 8:45am gah!) and then in the afternoon its the seperate subject meetings. English is first at 1pm and then History is straight after in the same lecture hall at 2pm. Very nice and easy, heh!
-Thursday sees nothing in the morning and then in the afternoon we have a social event at Megabowl Parrs Wood from 3pm to 5:30pm, unlimited bowling and pool with a buffet. Sounds fun! Plus Parrs Wood is near to where I'll be living *grins*.
-Friday just sees the MMU staff being available between 10am and 12 noon for queries. So the partying for the weekend begins early XDD
There was also a map in the envelope and so I was looking over that to familiarise myself with where everything is, and then I got our map of Manchester out and worked out how to get places from where our term-time house is. Tis all sooo simple. I just get on a bus across the road and it goes straight down the road which links up with the Curry Mile which then eventually turns into Oxford Road where the main Uni campus' are.
Once I'd read all the stuff that came through the post to death, I moved onto looking at MMU's website. I've flat out decided that I'm gonna take up Ju-jutsu/Ji-jitsu, never really sure if its spelt with a u or an i. The annual membership and insurance is 20 quid and each lesson is 3 quid and they have sessions twice a week but obviously I don't need to attend every single one. Looks good enough to me. I shall also be looking at joining Didsbury leisure centre for gyming and swimming. Wanna keep fit while I read all these books and write essays, haha. The only thing that disappointed me is that they don't seem to have an anime society. I'm just hoping that they have more societies than what is listed on the site because I don't think I could create a society myself, there's a lot of work involved as far I know and I don't think I could pull it off.
I also checked the night time program for freshers week and it all looks good to me. Monday night is Indie night and they have 'El Presidente' playing live. Should be good if I decide to go. Tuesday night is dubbed 'Retrovision', lots of retro stuff, including theme nights. Think that'll be funny. Wednesday is one of the infamous 'back to school' parties with the 'no uniform no entry' rule. Not sure about wearing school uniform again XD Thursday's hip hop with Trevor Nelson, not sure if I'll go to that, not really my type of music. Friday is the typical trancy clubby night in one club and 90s classics in another. 90s all the way!! XD Saturday is what I'm most happy with as it will be my 20th birthday and it's the 'Rock Kitchen', voted the best rock club in the north. Should be good stuff!
Hmm...I think I've covered most of today's findings. Ended up giving myself a wee bit of a headache cos of spazzing about this and that too much ^^;
Hmm...other than that I've managed to get some sort of bearing on when exactly we'll be moving up to Manchester. Since Henry is starting school up there on the 6th, we shall be going up either Sunday evening or Monday morning (4th/5th). Mum doesn't want to go up till then cos it gives us more time to sort stuff out here and also doesn't leave Sj on her own so soon. So that's um...one and a half weeks until we move and I'm left uncertain as to how long I'll be without the internet. Just gonna hope and pray that we get a connection sorted out asap when we get up there. They can't surely be as slow about getting you hooked up in Manchester as they are round here.
Okies, I'm done cos I'm getting bored of typing and you're all probably getting bored of reading, haha.
