Staying up late to watch golf. Why??

There's a perfectly good reason why. Its name is Tiger Woods.

I swear I've never seen anything like I saw tonight. I love sports. I really, really do. All kinds: soccer, tennis, football, car racing, horse racing, pretty much any summer Olympic sport, and golf.

Golf sort of has a caveat, though. I only truly love golf when Tiger is playing it. I've seen the man win every major he's ever won. Yes, all thirteen. If I'm lucky, I'll get to see number fourteen tomorrow.

Tonight's round three of the U.S. Open was special. In the last six holes Tiger had two eagles and a one hop, chip in birdie. That's five under for three holes, and he still only finished one under for the round. There was a double and three bogeys thrown, plus a birdie here and there just to spice things up. I honestly don't know how he did it. Not because I haven't seen him shoot amazing rounds before, but because he was in excruciating pain pretty much the entire round.

I thought for sure Steve was going to have to help him walk the last two holes, but Tiger toughed it out. He's too proud sometimes.

Even if he doesn't win tomorrow, he's had a damn fine tournament. I know he'll consider it a wasted opportunity if he doesn't capitalize and win this thing, but I'll be happy I witnessed whatever I get to see of it.

Thanks, Tiger. It's been a blast.
