In which I still procrastinate

So... I lack a real entry in my journal, in addition to responding to comments. Sorry.

Apparently this term took a turn for the worst. I've been appointed project manager for my design class. And don't worry, we don’t' have fun designing crazy fun ideas with little models. We get to build real motorized vehicles (in this case for logging, which is pretty kick-ass, might I add) which MUST work, and compete against others for marks and prize money. Did I mention I have less than two months to do this with an overly full course load? Six courses, every single damn one of them has labs, too. Back to the project, we also have to do force analysis. Ask any engineer to do force analysis by hand and they’ll go stone-white. Force analysis is a bitch best left to them oh-so convenient computers.

Seriously, this is an absolute bitch of project. I end up meeting on Sundays in addition to evenings and in between classes. And this is only one course. I’ve got five more to work on. In fact, this project is only worth 25% of the final mark. But my materials midterm next week is worth 30%. Hmm… which one is more important? Gaaahh!

But in good news, the GEM club is really fun. This one girl was really quiet last week, but this time she was really interested and we kept on talking about her and her project. She was literally beaming from pride. It was such a high point for the day, only to be topped off by meeting her dad. That guy is so cool. I told him how wonderful she was and how she seemed more open and really interactive. Then the dad said:
“I’m really glad she’s here. I’ll be sure to tell my wife how great this program is for her. Thank you.”

GLEEEE!

So I guess the summary is that school sucks and I’m pulling 10+ hour days on weekdays and at least 5 hours on the weekend on campus, but volunteering is the bestest reward ever. EVER.

Totally irrelevent: Franz's new album is smokin' hot. I've been listening to that whenever I get the time. Definite fav is "Twilight Omens".

And a special thanks to darthphere for this icon. I feel I've been abusing it by using it so much, but it's just so, so appropriate.
