“Did Changmin pop by again, Junsu?” Eunhyuk teased. Both of them are having a little private time at night when the children are soundly asleep and Eunhyuk decides that they should take a little time for themselves in the yard.
“Yea, he did. He loves the children and he’s very generous too.” Junsu promptly replied, taking no offence in the little teasing in Eunhyuk’s tone.
“I bet he’s not just interested in the children alone, Junsu. He came by quite a few times, all in the name of the children just to search for your shadows within the place.”
“Nah… Don’t read too much into things, Eunhyuk-ah. Maybe he really likes the children. Besides, who would be so generous to donate a few million won into improving the facilities if not for the love of the children?” Junsu replied, slipping the cup of milk.
Shim Changmin is a business man that recently came back to Busan from Seoul for visit to his hometown. He was a fine young man indeed, contributing back to the hometown that he once lived in. The orphanage survived through the financial crisis because of his generosity. He also came by a few times to interact with the children, participating in the most mundane routine of the children’s timetable. Junsu knew him and they both talked, a lot in fact. Changmin seem to have transferred most of his work here in Busan, citing to the natural scenery that he missed out in Seoul. While Junsu kept mum about his past engagement and the possible person of the father of the unborn child in him, Changmin never probed.
“Maybe he really likes you”, Eunhyuk turned and winked at Junsu with a knowing smile.
Naturally, Junsu felt the vibe but he dismissed the signs as a friendly gesture from Changmin. The extra care and concern and the way Changmin looks at him.
“I’m pregnant, Eunhyuk. Anyone can see that. ” Junsu stated, caressing his slightly bloated tummy as he spoke. He’s coming close to his fourth month.
“Then obviously Changmin don’t mind. Shouldn’t you consider him? I mean after….”
After Yoochun.
“No one would want a man, along with an unborn child who eventually translates as a burden, Eunhyuk. What’s more a man like Changmin. He’s got million of choice out there” Junsu cut through Eunhyuk’s sentence, fully aware of what’s going to come next.
Replacing Yoochun is almost impossible. Despite how much his heart was broken because of that very same man that completed him.
The conversation was never finished as Eunhyuk smartly kept his curiosity to himself than to push Junsu to talk about the past. Then they went on to slipping their tea and watching the night scenery of Busan while enjoying the night. He knew how Junsu is vulnerable whenever it’s being mentioned, how his moods would take on a 180 degree difference when being reminded. The rest of the hours were spent talking about the children, Junsu’s baby and the unforeseen future.

Junsu look intently at the little boy whose neck are strained by the window edges, desperately tipping his toes and his big round eyes were searching and yearning to see the figure that had since abandoned him some time ago.
Minwook was abandoned 6 months ago. And if there was any attempt to stay in contact, perhaps for a little visit, there would already have been. While Eunhyuk did try to contact his relatives by placing advertisements in the local press, spreading word of a little boy that might have been left behind for whatever reasons unknown but there just wasn’t any slightest news that might help to find out about the boy’s family.
“Are you waiting for mommy again, Miwook?” Junsu said while taking the boy in his arms and held him close.
“Let’s go in, shall we?” Junsu let go for his embrace and tug at the little hand to cue Minwook to leave. The boy wouldn’t budge one bit and shook his head.
“Why did mommy leave me, Mr kim?” Minwook asked, his voice was small and filled with such sadness that a typically 6 year old should not and would not have.
“Was it because I am not good enough? Was Minwook bad? Did I not listen to mommy?” his eyes were brimming with tears, his voice choking as he asked the questions that went around his head every single time he’s awake.
“No.”
Junsu and Minwook turned to the direction of the voice and the presence that wasn’t anticipated. He slowly stood up and there was his fiancé.
There was Yoochun.
There was Yoochun without his usual charismatic smile, without the usual confidence he carried around him, without the usual aura he had that smitten so many women and Junsu. He had a grim expression, his hair seemingly shorter; he wasn’t dress to the nines and had obviously lost weight.
The mere distance between them both seems like a thousand miles.
Junsu’s reflex was to run. Yet he could not. Minwook is right beside him, staring at them both. His hand went on his stomach on instinct protectively as he pulled the small boy behind him.
“Hi, Minwook.” Yoochun broke the silence, smiling a little.
Junsu took really still and held Minwook’s hands tighter. He fled all the way to Busan and still, Yoochun found him.
Yoochun fucking found him.
“D-do you know him, Minwook?” He asked, looking at the little boy. The youngster nodded innocently and replied.
“Uncle asked me to pass you a letter!”
“Letter?”
“Did you not read the letter, Junsu?” Yoochun spoke, this time directing his speech at Junsu.
“What letter, Minwook?” Junsu said, obviously with a strain. Junsu disregard Yoochun’s question and pressed Minwook on about the long forgotten letter.
“The purple letter, Mr Kim! I gave it to you while you’re talking to Mr Lee.” Minwook obediently answered, unaware of the situation.
Then, it dawn upon Junsu about the letter that was carelessly left upon the table for days. It had no return address, no stamp and he quickly regarded it another advertising spam mail.
“Is this not why you are here at this time, Junsu? I mentioned for us to meet here, if you’re agreeable at this time and place. I-I just wanted to talk, Junsu. I want to talk about us.” Yoochun went on, stepping forward to close the gap between the both of them. His hands were reaching out for Junsu’s arm so he can securely feel his fiancé’s existence.
Yes, there was Junsu, within his reach, alive and pregnant.
“Don’t touch me.”
With that, Yoochun retracted his outstretched arms.
“Junsu, please.”
And his pleads were in vain as Junsu walked away in hand with Minwook. Yoochun tried to find the right words to say, find the right ways to walk back into Junsu’s life.
Junsu bravely turned his back upon Yoochun. Before he knew it, his vision was blurred and it all went dark in an instant with Minwook’s surprised yelling in the background as he felt himself being lifted up.

Yoochun stared at the man who’s lying on the hospital bed. The doctors gave Junsu a total check up and assured Yoochun that both the baby and Junsu are fine. Yoochun rest his forehead on the entwined hands of Junsu’s and him. Junsu fainted because of the sudden flux of emotions.
Do you know how much you meant to me, Junsu?
Finally, he is able to feel Junsu. It feels like everything Junsu was 4 months ago, quiet and submissive. His hands began to wander, feeling the bloated stomach against the thin hospital blanket where his baby is slowly being nurtured.
He waited for a long time before he plucked up enough courage to even travel to Busan. He knew enough of Junsu to be healthy and happy. The pictures of Junsu that were given to him showed smiles of Junsu that he never saw.
It’s the smiles he never saw.
Yoochun just couldn’t bring himself to see Junsu. He couldn’t bear to see how Junsu would break yet and again in front of him, at the mere sight of him. The images tortured him day and night. He went on to find comfort in his old lifestyle, indulging himself in a mess of sexual attachment and work.
Do you know that Park Yoochun isn’t Park Yoochun when he’s without Kim Junsu?
The man spoke his heart to the sleeping angel, telling him his love in the most primitive language.
I love you, Junsu.
I love you, Junsu.
This time, its Park Yoochun who fell in love with Junsu.
