I did an abslute ton of crap this weekend. But it was all very wroth it and very fun
**Saturday September 2nd**
I got up fairly early with my mother to go to Bonner Springs, KS for the Kansas City Renissance Festival. I was mostly going because a good friend of mine by the name of Trotter was comming up with his group The Bilge Pumps. And I had kind of promised him I would go up and see him preform sometime over the weekend. Since him and the group were only there for this last weekend. Also the Jolly Rogers were offering to pay for any of their fans that were in their Offical Fan Club since it was fan club day at the faire so we kind of saved a bit on money for the day by not having to pay for anything

We got in through the front gate and picked up our tickets to get in at roll call then, I stoped and talked with some of the ladies of the court about if the phantom's feast still had openings since I want to try and make it up again and see that sometime next month. And I also aked what it taked to volunteer at the festival since I am kind of interested in doing that in the following years before I make my huge move. Then me and mom moved on we got to see about the last five minutes of The Bilge Pumps first or second show for the day, we arrived at the gates around 11:30am or noon. So I wasn't exactly sure if they had done all that much for the day just yet. After that we caught a little bit of what looked like a pirate stunt show, and knowing KCRF like I do with its tons of stunts shows they do that does not really suprise me too much. After this we headed south to catch The Jolly Rogers our local pirate/comedy singing group. Though truth be told I was kind of distracted from watching, there was a patron who was dressed just like Jack Sparrow near the stage and the guy had nearly everything down exactly like the real thing. The outfit had everything on it that it shoudl have and looked perfect, he had the swagering movments down perfectly as well, and his vocie even sounded good for the part..this guy even had the gold teeth! I have seen a lot of people do costumes of Jack but I have to admit that this guy did to the key!!
After watching The Jolly Rogers I went up said hi to the boys since I know them fairly well and just chatted with em for a bit Kurt from the group had actually gone on a two week vaction in August to Japan this summer and since I really want to go there for a career after I get done with school I asked him how everything went. lol we was so cute he even made some kind of comment about him leaving a demo tape at this little amusment park in Nagasaki that is basicly a replica of a small dutch town. I have my fingers crossed for the guys to be able to do a gig out there eventually that would be amazing.

After I stood around and talked for a while I realized I wanted to try to find a place that had snoods. I first ran into a place that had a lot of Kimonos and oriental style clothing for actually fairly resnoabe prices. Went on to look at a few more other places and founds some dragon art for my collection lol I have a real thing for dragons. Still need to remember to stop by Nene Thomas's booth next time I am at faire. I am not sure if its her that does it or not but someone that works along side nene or herself. Makes these amazing pictures of little anime style girls that are faires or angels and they are all dressed in Renissance style clothing. I honestly would love to cosplay one of the girls and do it at faire I think I would get a lot of comments about it. lol so after buying the $1 dragon artwork piece..I finally fouund a place that sold snoods. About after I found the place my mother called me on the cell phone to find out where I had wondered off, cuz the stunt show she was watching had then ended.

My mother bought the snood for me and we tried to locate were the Musical Blades were going to play at. We couldn't find the area they were sppoused to be so we moved on to another booth we had planned to look at, the booth was a place you could buy bows and arrows. But before we got to the booth I came across some people from the Columbia faire, a few of our wentch's and a random guy whom I did not know but who seemed to be a very nice fellow, and our cardinal Earn. We stood and chatted for a bit and then my mother and I moved on to look at bows. I looked at a few bows and actually tried one out and then we went along to get some food. But we bumped into a friend of mine that I know from St.Louis and my local faire in Columbia Captian Cutter, and his livily little bird Jake.
We stood around and chatted for a bit and then we moved on. We grabed a turkey leg and and headed back to the pirate ship to see the Jolly Rogers yet again. While I stood about after the show talking with some more people my mother went up a few stages to go watch the Limey Birds. I wanted to get a picture with the girls but they were all in litttle bits and pieces talking with people and sealing CDs so I requested to get a shoot with the girls at the pub sing.

My mother and I headed up to the 3 lions stage to catch the last bits of Devin's stunt show I.V. Presents Get Shrewed. I have seen this show several times at KC but its just one of those shows u never seem to get tired of watching. After Devin cleared off with lots of tips in tow the Bilge Pumps came out for a show, which was exteremly entertaining and funny lol near I say almost funnier the Jolly Rogers even. After the Bilge Pumps got off stage and I got pictures with the three ones I like the most and one with the whole group it was time for the Jolly Rogers all request show.Which was very nice and lively just like any good Rogers show is suppoused too! After that it was time for the pub sing which hads lots of luvly acts lots of which I had never heard of and some that I had. Such as Maiden's Whymsie, the Limey birds, Queen's Gambit, the Bilge Pumps, the Jolly Rogers and a few dancing girls to spare. All in all it was a very livily very nice showing of different and fun musical acts. At about mid way to the end of the pub sing the queen showed which is the usual sign that the last huzzah is gathering near. I would have stuck around for a little longer but honestly I did not have the time to. Espically since Trotter had lowned me his friends copy of Battle Royale and I had told him I would run out to the parking lot to get it. He had to turn around and out to Wenton,MO to do another show at local bar. And so while he headed off to do that. Me and mom said farwell to the faire and headed back home for the evening.
