Shift swap was approved; had a feeling it would be. I can book my ticket now if I want to go to Combi. Waiting to see if Ged fancies it, his work shifts mean he can go if he wants, but otherwise I may well go on my own. As I still have to work the next day it'll mean no painted braids but hey ho, it doesn't bother me. Besides sometimes I can't be arsed to do the full "cyber-gear" thing.

Definitely NO gym before the gig, either! Having attended Fuze on Friday after firstly working a 12-4 shift then burning 1296 calories in 1hr 30mins on the cross trainer, plus doing the abs class, I really felt it in my legs. On the night I had to regularly stop and stretch the backs of my legs out and I can still feel a bit of a pull in my calves.

Music was really good; Moctan, Punch Inc, Trimada and then Shnarph!, in that order. Am sooo glad I sat down for the DJ set in between the last two bands because Shnarph! were amazing and I stomped soooo hard... Without the short break beforehand there would have been no way I'd have been able to dance properly.

I'd planned to get a train home somewhere between 7:30 and 8am, but found out on the night that the gig finished at 6, not 7. I got an earlier train but there was no way Zak would be up and about when I got back to MK, nor was I about to ring and wake him, so I caught a bus home which luckily was only a few minutes from when I reached the bus stop. As it was about 7:55 when I reached the front door, had no keys on me, plus Zak had set his alarm for 8am, I knocked on the door and he let me in :)

Today was a nice warm day for the most part. It did cloud over in the afternoon but was sunny again for a while later before clouding up for the evening. Forecast is looking hopeful for tomorrow; if it's sunny all day like it says then I will be sat outside with my book again.

Rooney, next door's kitty, was a total naughty paw today and caught a fledgling baby sparrow! He'd been chasing the birds about for a while, suddenly Zak was exclaiming that "He's got one!" and sure enough, there he was entering our house with his gift in his jaws. I removed it and released it but it just fluttered about and he caught it again, so I took it off him once more. It was still alive and I was unsure what to do with it, so I asked the neighbour if he knew of anywhere that looks after injured wildlife. Nowhere in MK we are aware of, he suggested we put it in a box with a towel over the top to still allow light in, and to give the bird a chance to recover. I noticed some blood on its breast and was a bit worried that it might not survive. However, we'd had lunch and visited Mum, killing a few hours, before we checked on the bird again. As Zak was putting a bottle-cap full of water into the box, it fluttered out! It did so again and landed on the floor chirping, so we figured it was recovered enough to be released! We walked around the corner to some woodland, well away from Hayden's cats, and released the bird. I just hope now that the chest wound was superficial and that the bird survives.

Finally I am considering going to next month's Coven as my mate Wes is guest DJ and mebbies then I'd get a few stompy-stompy tunes from him. Zak probably won't go so I'd be looking at Karen to give me a lift to and from Hemel station, if she's going :)
