So I was asked what prompted my BDSM rant.  And I was vague in my answer because honestly, I'm not out to flame anyone.  Or shame them.  But I think I will give the specifics now because I posted my comment (after having two people look it over and help me NOT sound like a bitch) and I got a rather disappointing PM back

I think you can generally assume that anything that you rant about on ffrants will cause someone to flip out. (And then the rest pile on.) It's the way that group works. I really wouldn't stress it. ;)

I know, I know ^_^;; The thing is I kept the rant here. I tried soooooo hard to be constructive and helpful over there. Damn the idealistic, optimistic part of me.

Of course, this is a good example of why I RARELY comment over on the Pit.

Here is the kicker, her defence is that the story was just supposed to be FAN SERVICE. Since when does writing fan service mean crappy writing is okay?

I pretty much avoid the pit for that reason. No good ever comes from it, really.

I do get that a lot of writers are pretty crappy, and just sort of accept it. But yeah, I wish people would not be awful writers. (Or at least would try to improve from time to time.) Not going to happen, though. Sadly. Well, from most people, anyway.

Oh I have found some lovely gems over there. Of course this means wading through a lot if crap first but that is the nature of the beast.

I just wish people were able to deal with concrit constructively. After all, its meant help better one's craft.

There are some. (Mostly by people capable of accepting critique.)

I wish more people were able to deal with concrit, too. But I sort of accept that there are those with golden word syndrome (who are going to snap back) and those who are just doing this for fun (in which case, they probably won't snap, but they're not looking for concrit either). And I accept both. *sigh*
