Calling all Jason Lovers!
So I've read B&R 23. And I have to say my feelings are mixed.
First of all, WHY is he still a redhead? o.o I mean come on! He looks like Arsenal! Which is nothing against Arsenal but really, Jason had his own look, even as "another blue eyed, black haired boy" in the Cave. And while I can admit that Hair (and beard, eyebrows AND eyelash) colour is a bit petty, it just irks me.
Now onto bigger things: The attitude.
Part of me LOVES Jay's attitude. What he does in Blackgate is PRICELESS and totally him. Even the internal dialog/reasoning just SCREAMED "Jason is back" to me. That said, the attitude is TOO stable. Never thought you'd hear ME making that complaint huh?
By that, what I mean is his reaction to Bruce's Visit was too even, too unconcerned. Hell, too undamaged. This is a guy with long standing ISSUES. And while I do NOT want to see him be a whiny snot carrying on about how daddy didn't love him enough, it feels very wrong to me to have those issues go completely unacknowledged. This neither follows what we saw of him in Lost Days and it's nothing LIKE Morrison's version..which, yes that IS a good thing but where is the guy I know and love? Have his anger and family issues just evaporated?!
I have to say I DID like the flash back at the beginning with Batman, Nightwing and the new Robin, that gave me a warm fuzzy feeling ~_^
This is of course the first of a three parter so we'll see, but I'm really not sold on this one. What did you think of it?
