This has got to be the worst constructed shirt in history.
I've only worn it once before now and I assumed that was because it's a club shirt and I don't go out anymore so I had no reason to wear it. In my cleaning out of the closet I saw it, but didn't want to get rid of it and decided to try and add it to my daily wear.
It's very blingy and so I have to dress it down. Since it looks like chainmail (which is why I have it) I've opted to go with a military style to dress it down. That portion works wonderfully; I'm like some glam rock foot soldier.
But after today I'm pulling the sucker apart and totally redoing it. The chainmail portion (which is the entire shirt) is just one big square that they attached at the corners. In doing so the draping is so bad that I'm wondering how the hell I wore it the previous time. (Right now it's over a tank top.)
I'm going to rip it off its lining, make an actual top for it (the potential weight drag on the front can't possibly be worse than it is now with just the lacing) and re-drape it so that it actually works. I'll end up having a little sleeve thingy but if it works like I'm hoping it'll be a pretty little embellishment a la that brown shirt that I love but is so old I really need to get rid of. It might go into that "pull apart and make into patterns" pile.
More sewing projects....
Speaking of, I really should get that ruffle done tonight.
- Another bunch of hand washing. Red or brown or misc is what I'm down to.
- Vacuum
- Pick up my disaster of a room
- Finish inside Halloween decor
- Make brats
- Pin ruffle to the pink tulle and sew it on
- Do all of this tonight so you can play tomorrow with Ezio, otherwise you're splitting it up into two days.
