So, after agonizing over $100 jeans (that were eventually $30 on eBay- though I didn't buy), I randomly walked into Old Navy last weekend and found perfect jeans. Two pairs- one bootcut, dark denim and one corduroy, in awesome burnt orange. Best part, they were $15 each!!! Being that I was with my mom, and she is really nice to me when I come home, she gifted me the jeans, also a lovely purple sweater. Great sales all around the store too.
This was a major highlight of my weekend.
Also, I'm SO behind on Japan recaps. I need to write it all down.. ahh! Just need to get pictures from Jeff. That will help the creative juices flow.
Today, I went to the library. For those librarians/in training librarians/in the know, why are comic books and graphic novels in the non-fiction section, near the drawing and cartooning books? I don't understand. Anyways, I got three books: Palestine, a Nation Occupied (V1), The Sandman: The Dream Hunters, and book 1 of the newly released The Walking Dead. There are lots of fancy upgraded editions of comic books/graphic novels out now. Even Fables and Hellboy have theirs!
We went to Borders after the library- though first stopping for dinner at Rubio's. Delicious fish tacos. At Borders, I saw so so many things I covet. Part of the problem is that some of these titles, like Fables, are difficult to get at the library. They only have a few volumes. New and popular books, like Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Lost Symbol are readily available. Course, you have to wait. But they are on the carts somewhere! I've been meaning to get an LA County library card for a while now. I live and work near the county line, so it's 5-20 minutes to get to an LA County library. They have a somewhat better selection of comics and graphic novels.
