When pop stars still remained a myth...
Man, I have lots of post about. Tiny update right now:
1. DRS at OCPAC was alright. Norbert wasn't Freddy, and his understudy was okay. My main issue was with the venue itself. I don't like it. It's too tall, had sound problems and a funky layout. For example, the board that has the cast list and information about replacements for the night is not on the floor where the ticket windows are. It's one level up. So, if you are not on the orchestra level, you don't get to see it. This also means that you don't find out that Norbert Leo Butz isn't performing that night until a voice-over right before curtain tells you so! Grr. On the plus side, our usher was nice and let myself and Sunny move down to the bottom of our balacony. We started out a few rows from the back, on the highest balcony. EWW!
2. Sunny and I are seeing Curtains at the Ahmason on Thursday. I'm thinking of taking the train to Riverside, to save money and gas. Amtrak is overpriced, and I just now learned that the Metrolink, a cheaper alternative to Amtrak with more options in SoCal, can get me from Oceanside to downtown Riverside for $23, round trip. Hmm... sounds like a good idea!!! Their fare from Oceanside to Irvine is also cheaper. Course, traffic on the 5 and the 15 sucks when I would be leaving, so I may have to leave from Solana Beach. I can take the regular train from SB to OSide for $8. That does make my trip more expensive. I seem to remember the Coaster makes trips up the San Diego coastline. I bet that's cheaper! Hmm. Advice, please?
EDIT: I can take the 808 line from Oceanside to Riverside and never have to get off! Course, that puts me in Riverside at 6:38pm. However, if Sunny can get me from another station along the 91, I can get in earlier. Oh, the ideas! This may actually work!!
3. I hosted a Labor Day weekend BBQ at my house on Sunday. It was delicious. I will post the menu when I get home. I am quite proud of myself. I prepared all the food, and my dad grilled it. Yeaaa!!
4. I cleaned the house this weekend and made money. This money will go to gas, which is currently $2.91 in Scripps Ranch. w00t! Gas prices are going down! It was $3.03 the week I went to Irvine twice. Not too shabby.
5. My DS Lite is en route to my house! I can't play it at all, but it's nice to know the thing is on it's way. I was getting a bit worried lol.
6. Stargate=love. I forget what episode Tim and I ended on last night... I know we saw Thor's Chariot. Hmm. I think it was Message in a Bottle? I must say, I was quite disappointed when I saw Thor. I wanted a Norse God darnit!! I think I purchased a blow up doll that looked like the real Thor. *facepalm* Oh Roswell, you are too corny.
