Today I finally got up the rest of the wayward lemon balm (leaving only the original plant). And finally started gardening in earnest; the front garden, anyway. I haven't yet touched the veggie patch, except to purchase some stepping stones, mulch, seeds and a couple plants.

ursuscelticus, the Eyas and I went hiking up the Buffalo mountian today. It's a magical spot. Not just for us either; story goes it's always been a traditional place for a spring ritual. The local hippie folk gather there on the equinox these days, anyway. I went for a walk last night...right after midnight. Someone across the street was setting off fireworks; the big kind, that that you shoot from a mortar. Artos and I walked through the field, and around behind the tennis courts to a spot where there is a cluster of birches growing from within a rough crescent of rock.
