...and I could now almost say "and they lived happily ever after". The one of a kind holiday is now over.
After lots of doubt and uncertain moments we finally made it home. Russia didn't really made us feel welcome; they didn't speak english even at the international airport, and in the city everything was in Russia. We did know the names of the places we were supposed to go, but everything was written in cyrillic alphabets, and people spoke even less english in the city than in the airport. When we had walked around for some time and didn't just seem to find the right train station we almost lost hope, but finally we found someone who knew where the train station was. And of course it had been just behind us all along, but there was nothing on the building that would have given us the glue that it's a train station... Can you believe that even the workes of the next door train station where we asked directions, didn't know that the station we were looking for really is just opposite to their station?? Well, we finally made it and the guy who was supposed to give us the tickets was still there. Can you imagine the feeling of relief we all had when we finally had the tickets in our hands...
The train trip went well, we slept almost all the way. When we woke up we were almost home, and only a few hours later we really were.
Now I'm trying to get back to normal routines but it's always a bit hard after a holiday. And now it's been five weeks... This is going to get worse before it gets better. I know I'm going to feel a bit down for a coupld of days while nothing still feels quite right, but hopefully it passes soon.
