I still have my Farm 101 list, which I'm actually still plucking away at even if I haven't updated in forever. I also have a better sense of what kind of TIME and funds those goals take, so I realize my farm list wasn't as realistic as it should have been. I was honored to doula my very first dragon birth today. I arrived in the evening at the mother's home, for she planned a home water birth. It went much faster than I expected. Just got an email from DONA.org - check out the Today show early in the 8 o'clock hour (I believe it said 8:06) to see a segment on doulas, and possibly DONA in particular. A producer gave birth with a DONA certified doula and now wishes to sing their praises! Can't wait!

baby_squee was born at 6:14 pm to kajmal & simplydorei. She is absolutely adorable. Despite the meconium, she had APGARs of 8 & 9. Perfect in every little way! Big huge thanks to everyone who sent prayers and reiki ( Read more... )

We made plans Friday, and I flew up Thursday morning. Got here about 11 am yesterday. simplydorei really felt it would be this weekend, specifically Sunday.

Edit: Bah, was I loopy and in a hurry yesterday. That was supposed to be flew up SATURDAY morning. The plan was to *stay* til Thursday. roflmao ( Read more... )

I just got the DONA e-Doula and learned that the 2009 conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia! Why, that should be close enough for me to go! Anyone else going?
