Avengers
So, I saw The Avengers this weekend. And now I'm finally getting around to squeeing about it here. And squee I will, because god damn you guys, where did this movie come from and why is it so great? (Answer, I know, is fun actors + Joss Whedon = magic).
-- BRUCE BANNER YOU GUYS. I never cared about this character even a little bit before, but I love this version of him. Mark Ruffalo really sold his inner angst, and also managed to bring the humor big time both as Bruce and Hulk. Probably my favorite character of the film, which I did not expect. I just want to give him a hug.
-- Speaking of hugs, Bruce/Tony(/Pepper) y/y? I actually came out of this movie shipping ALL the things -- Tony/Steve, Tony/Pepper, Natasha/Clint, Natasha/Bruce, etc) but I think I like this best. IDK. The actors had great chemistry.
-- BLACK WIDOW. Just...Black Widow. I've always loved ScarJo. I love manipulative morally grey characters with dark pasts who are seeking some form of redemption. I like women who kick butt. Basically, I am all over this character. Really want her to get her own movie ASAP. She takes me back to my Alias days.
-- In general the entire team was great, and I was so, so impressed by the way Joss managed to balance all the different characters and then bring them together as a team.
-- The actual action was AWESOME. I really liked how they explored all sorts of different pairs -- both fighting together and against each other -- within the team. It kept things lively. I was never board.
-- Also, the movie was hilarious. Of course. Joss is great at dialogue.
Basically awesome movie is awesome. Anyone have any fic recs?
