Happy Hallowe'en, my poppets! It has been an action-packed week.

WEDNESDAY: Soph, anik, Ms. V and myself went to Fright Nigths. On the downside, it was raining. On the upside, it was raining, and so there weren't many people there. No lines! A fun, soggy time was had by all.
THURSDAY: We're doing pottery in material culture, so I spent the evening wrestling with a lump of clay. After hours of struggle, I produced an extremely lumpy bowl. I still had some clay left over, though, so I also made a little coil pot (also lumpy). And then I still had a little clay left, so I made a manatee.
FRIDAY: I went to go see The Prestige with
aka_paloma. Dude. It blew my mind. It was awesome. Afterwords, she took me to Kidsbooks. It was beautiful. Organized sections! A proper reference section! An Eyewitness spinner! Puzzles! Plushies! French books! I nearly cried from the sheer wonder of it. And I managed to spend less than fifty dollars. Go me.
SATURDAY: Actually went to a Hallowe'en party given by one of the girls from the Greek field school (NOT Ghetto Fabulous). I wore my Absinthe costume and talked to four people. Again, go me.
SUNDAY: Went to anik's swop. I took three tubs, two garbage bags and one small bag of stuff. I left with about seven items. There is space in my crawlspace again, woot!
MONDAY: Painted my pottery. It is possibly the ugliest pottery on earth. We fire them tomorrow. I fully expect them all to explode.
TODAY: Trick or Treat, here's a midterm!
Today also saw what must be the stupidist moment in my great history of stupid moments. As I got off the bus at school, I realized that somehow (I have no idea how), my jeans had popped open on the bus. Why, hello, knickers! I hadn't expected to see you again until later. So I'm clutching my coat closed while I awkwardly waddle my way down to the library, where there's a sort-of berm, thus providing me with some privacy while I put myself back together. A stellar beginning to the day.
Also saw several costumes on campus today. There was SuperGirl, several fairies, some witch hats, and a wide variety of animal ears. And then there was the girl at the bus stop. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt, and assume that there was a perfectly innocent explanation for her ensemble. She was wearing a white robe, trimmed in red. Hanging down off of the back of the robe was...a pointy white hood. Without a doubt, this wins the award for Most Unfortunate Costume Ever. The cowboy boots did not help.

Some Hallowe'en linkspam!
It's a CYLON PUMPKIN. If I had any electrical skills whatsoever, I would totally do this.
Tampon Crafts. I'm not sure about the bat, but the ghosts do seem to work.
The zombie in the archaeological record.
Hallowe'en mashups! M&M's Dark Movies. It's this game where you have to identify 50 "dark" films represented in the painting. See if you can play it, because it won't load on my computer.

I'm going to go watch Picnic at Hanging Rock now, while also trying to finish drilling a hole through my @*#*$&!! bead.
