All I have of you, is more than enough..
So we had the Men's retreat at my church this weekend. We were supposed to camp out and have a sweet man weekend but the rain and EEE kinda put a stop to that. Anyways we still did some cool stuff at the church. Friday we got some ill dinner, did some serious praise music then watched the sox game on the overhead. Then some of the kids and I decided we would sleep at the church to enhance the "camping" or lack there of experience.... it was awesome, we didnt end up sleepin til 4 or so then were up at 8. I love those kids, I'm gonna miss em soo much, it's awesome to see all that God is doing in that place. Today, we were up at 8 and I went home to get a shower and stuff then headed back to the church. We did some more worship music then the pastor shared a message about being the men God called us to be; it was great, really hit home on a lot of things and it's something that I've been wanting the kids in the youth group to hear. Basically just about being a strong leader and the evberyday battle to be sexually pure. I wish someone talked to me about it when I was younger, but nobody had the balls to. After this we headed up to Whitman to play some paintball, it was pretty sweet, got to take out some of the older guys which is always fun. Then our world renowned Christ Community chefs prepared us a feast of pasta & meatballs, chicken, pulled pork, chili, peirogies, salad, etc. etc. I couldnt move after... Then we did some real deep worship with some of my favorite songs. The worship team did an amazing job. It was really powerful for me, the first time I've cried in a long time... it felt sooo good to just praise Jesus' incredible holiness for what it is, it was very humbling and it felt so right. Then we capped off the night with some prayer.
I was real down when I saw the weather for the weekend, but it just goes to show you God's faithfulness. We might not have been to reach the same spiritual level if we went camping. A couple of people opened up and I feel that there was some overdue healing that took place, it was just really refreshing to be in such a pure, God seeking place and it showed by what went on. Overall it was a great time, theres something powerful about a group of men who seek after God. The Bible says where 2 or 3 are gathered I (the Lord) will be there also... He was definately there this weekend...
