SixTONES talk about 2017 new yea'rs resolutions, what they do at Karaoke, and their first contact with the mic
(scans from yoshiko-mama@LJ)
── The 6 members strengthen their bond with their tones! A big fuss at the new year's Karaoke party!
The boys held a new year's Karaoke party in which the theme is taken from their group name "Tones"! We are going to hear the 2017 resolutions of the 6 boys who are increasingly gaining momentum, and also hear their Karaoke story!
Kouchi: Challenging myself in something new
Work-related Resolutions: There is nothing specific comes to my mind, but I want to start doing something new. It'd be nice if I could do something nobody has done before.
Personal Resolutions: Taking good care of my health, and living on with a smiley face! I want to live in a way where I'm preoccupied by work to the degree I have no rest, that's why I want to have a good control over my body condition.
Hokuto: Carrying out performances carefully, without fail
Work-related Resolutions: My energy runs out little by little when I'm on stage. Since there are performances setting in February and March, I'm determined to keep (my energy) steady when performing, that's the first thing I want to do.
Personal Resolutions: I want to play the piano again this year. I'm learning it by myself, but sometimes I ask my friends some questions about it. It'd be cool if I can perform with the piano again.
Juri: I want to take all chances
Work-related Resolutions: In February in Shinbashi theatre, Juniors live from March to May was announced, and with that it marked a new job for me. I want to take every chance so I can (have a job) every year just like that.
Personal Resolutions: I want to continue doing my best in the things I did in 2016. It'd be nice if I can upgrade my level little by little just like what I have been doing up till down.
Jesse: I want to appear in a variety show!
Work-related Resolutions: My concentration is mostly on lives and butais! But because I like variety shows, I want to participate in a lot of them, not only that, but also dramas and movies!
Personal Resolutions: Never change, and have fun everyday. Yesterday, it felt time has passed so fast~ This year, I want to continue doing the things that I want to do.
Shintaro: I want break out of the shell to make my 20th year memorable
Work-related Resolutions: I want to improve in my job more! Not only butai and live performances, but also TV shows, radio, magazines.... I want to challenge myself in lots of things!
Personal Resolutions: I'm turning 20 this year, so I want to break out of the shell! But since I'm a mad person, I wonder how many shells am I going to break LOL
Taiga: I want to step up more!
Work-related Resolutions: I want to enhance SixTONES stage performance. I think it would be cool if we could bypass Juniors limits in an aggressive way.
Personal Resolutions: Because I had the chance to participate in a butai last year, I want to try participating in a recorded play as for this year. Also, I want to distribute my self-written song!
Crosstalk: Part 1:
What Karaoke stories do the members have?
Matsumura: All 6 of us went (to Karaoke) this year too
Tanaka: I didn't sing much, but I talked about job and things like that
Kouchi: Since our voices are not heard from outside, I didn't mind being able to talk
Matsumura: A while ago, Totsuka-kun took all of us to Karaoke too, right?
Jesse: He also took us to eat rice
Kyomoto: But when all the 6 of us are together, some of us don't sing along with the one who's singing....
Morimoto: I don't sing!
Matsumura: I don't sing either
Tanaka: Speaking about this, when we went with Totsuka-kun (to Karaoke), Kouchi sang for us LOL
Kouchi: I sang School Kakumei by JUMP LOL
Kyomoto: Even though Kouchi was not practically singing LOL
Jesse: We do sometimes go to Karaoke as 2 people, or 3 people
Tanaka: Kyomo and Jesse occasionally go together to sing
Kyomoto: We do that for practicing
Tanaka: Me and Shintaro went together about a year ago
Morimoto: Yup! But I didn't sing, it's because I don't like singing that much
Jesse: Even though singing will always be your job?? LOL
Kyomoto: When I was a senior in high school, I went with Shintaro and another friend of mine to Karaoke together once
Tanaka: I once went with Yamaguchi Tatsuya-san to Karaoke
Jesse: I once went with Kamenashi Kazuya-kun. He sang a song by Tamaki Koji in a sexy way LOL
Morimoto: Didn't Kouchi go with Uchimura Teruyoshi-san before?
Tanaka: He did. It's because it was a basic Karaoke for School Kakumei's cast party
Matsumura: What did Uchimura-san sing?
Kouchi: I THINK it was "Okuru Kotoba" or something.. ?? lol (note: Kaientai's 1979 hit song)
Morimoto: Even though all 6 of us go together to Karaoke, we weren't noticed, right?
Jesse: Not at all. We still have a long way to go!
Crosstalk: Part 2:
Tell us more of what you did at Karaoke!
Kouchi: Jesse often sings golden oldies. He often plays Kimigayo LOL (note: national anthem of Japan)
Jesse: Cause that song is Japan's pride!
Tanaka: They ask me to rap so once I turn on a rap song, they get bored right away lol
Morimoto: Although everyone asks Juri to rap, none of us knows rap songs, so we would just start playing with our phones lol
Tanaka: I felt lonely!
Matsumura: A little before it was Kyomoto's turn to sing, he undoubtedly stood up. Jesse and Juri were sitting when they were singing, but Kyomoto undoubtedly stood up!
Kyomoto: I can't sing if I don't stand up
Jesse: I stand up only if I put serious effort in it
Tanaka: Kouchi tends to stay away from the mic
Kouchi: I only just started to realise it lol
Jesse: I hate it when I want to sing alone by my feelings but someone interrupts me
Kouchi: That's actually you lol
Tanaka: You know everyone feels bored when I'm rapping, except Jesse, even though he doesn't know the song, he still interrupts me LOL
Matsumura: With that said, actually me too, when I was singing, Jesse took the mic from me lol
Kouchi: and Shintaro watches over us as if he is our grandpa lol
Morimoto: That's because I don't sing!
Kouchi: Hokuto doesn't know many of the major songs that we are doing. Therefore, he always tends to sit close to the door so he can go home
Matsumura: Yup, I do that sometimes
Jesse: I "tend" to not let him go home.
Morimoto: You just only wanted to say "tend" right? LOL (note: Kouchi ended his sentence with "gachi" which is kinda like "tend" and Jesse also ended it the same way, after that all members continue to end their sentences with "gachi")
Kouchi: Jesse "tends" to turn on the songs that he never gets tired of singing
Jesse: Shintaro "tends" to look at the history (of played songs?) on the touch panel
Kyomoto: I "tend" to drink fizzy drinks
Morimoto: That's why you "tend" to burp in the middle of the chorus LOL
Crosstalk: Part 3:
Your memories of the first day you held a mic
Jesse: For me, the first time was when I appeared in Shounen Club, I held the mic in a funny way. It's because I didn't know how to hold it right.
Matsumura: The first time for me to hold a mic was also in Shokura. I thought that I must NOT hold the mic away from me so I kept sticking it on my mouth, however, when we were done with the song, my lips were all covered by blood lol
Morimoto: My first time was also in Shokura. I nervously held the mic away from me, and when the performance ended, I left the stage in the middle of us saying "Thank you very much." I remember I was angry about that
Kouchi: Just like me. Even Chinen-kun called me "Wada Akiko-san" (note: watch her performances if you haven't XD)
Kyomoto: Because the mic was far from you LOL
Kouchi: I didn't know how to (hold a mic) when I entered the Jimusho
Kyomoto: When I get excited during dancing (or too focused on dancing), I start holding the mic away without realising. I forget about the mic when I am concentrating on something different.
Matsumura: Getting used to the mic is gaining experience, right?
Tanaka: The first time I rapped was in Hey! Say! JUMP 2008 concert. I've never rapped before that time, but it was the first time I held a mic, and performed with so many lights on me, I cannot remember anything more lol
Kyomoto: The day I joined (the Jimusho) was the first day I held a mic when I appeared in KAT-TUN debut concert. Kamenashi-kun handed me the mic and asked me "How old are you?" and I answered "11 years old."
Tanaka: I was in the audience so I was watching that!
Kyomoto: But the first time I actually (held a mic) to sing was in Shokura. During rehearsals, I held a tube made of white paper that resembled a mic.
Kouchi: Good times!
Tanaka: Right now we cannot do anything if we don't have a mic.
Kyomoto: Right now we have 6 mics...
Jesse: Let's break down the wall alright!
── Recent STONE days & their favourite songs in Karaoke!! (note: the term 18番 [ohako] can mean their favourite song or the song they specialize at in Karaoke)
Jesse:
Karaoke favourite: If I want to do a mellow song, it's gotta be Somei Yoshino by ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI.
Something happened recently: I often go out with someone to eat rice. I have been going to Japanese food restaurants with SixTONES, and senpais have been taking me out to eat too.
Hokuto:
Karaoke favourite: I haven't been going to Karaoke lately, but I usually sing Ninomiya-kun's songs. My favourite is Doko ni Demo Aru Uta
Something happened recently: My friend, who is younger than me, has just turned 20! With that, All 3 of us (note: his other friend) who used to play together are now adults! I was unusually very happy~~
Kyomoto:
Karaoke favourite: Mou Kimi Igai Aisenai by Kinki Kids. It's because the lyrics fit the music well and it's the type of lyrics that make a girls' heart flutter.
Something happened recently: I had a KyomoCelebration arranged for my birthday! We went to Tokyo Skytree, and in Gakuya, I was given a Dakimakura! (note: Gakuya is supposedly a restaurant around Tokyo Skytree, or it could be the dressing room which doesn't make sense to me; Dakimakura is a hug pillow)
Juri:
Karaoke favourite: Lyric by TOKIO. When I was given that song in Johnny's Ginza to perform it, me and Moro (Morohoshi Shoki) have been singing it well.
Something happened recently: I went with Kouchi, Fukazawa kun (Fukazawa Tatsuya), Iwamoto kun (Iwamoto Hikaru), and Abe kun (Abe Ryohei) to Onsen. We could feel refreshed by taking a big bath!
Shintaro:
Karaoke favourite: I don't have any! When I go to Karaoke, I don't sing, because I'd always be listening, and I'd always be talking LOL
Something happened recently: These days I often spend time in Prince's dressing room. We have been eating rice together and relaxing afterwards and taking a nap.
Kouchi:
Karaoke favourite: Niji by Ninomiya-kun. The impact it had on me when I first heard it was great! Yet I cannot help it but I still thoroughly read the lyrics when they appear on the screen.
Something happened recently: I went out to eat steak but I ate around 600g in total including the left overs from my friend. I don't want to see any meat for some time..
Other corners of the magazine:
Talent-teki * Hayari mono: Your favorite smell of bathing salts
Jesse: At my house, I'm the last one to have a bath, so those who have entered ahead of me have already used many things. If I have to choose, I will go with the smell of flowers. I like what's floral.
Kyomoto: Nothing. I wouldn't use products which have "Works on stiff shoulders" written on them. I don't like products that 'look stylish', I rather want those that are really effective. I don't care about the smell lol.
Kouchi: I like taking baths so I often use bathing salts as well. The one I use doesn't have a smell but it's somewhat glossy I'd say? I like it when the water is whitish and sprinling with mild smell.
Hokuto: It might be something common, but I like the fresh bergamot smell. I always use bathing salts. I soak myself well in the bathtub up till my neck.
Shintaro: Everyday, I use this bathing salt that Jinguji recommended for me. When I put it in water, it turns into blue, it has a very nice scent of plants!
Juri: I don't really use bathing salts much but If I did... I would use one with not so much smell. Rather than sweet smell of flowers, I would prefer to use one with the smell of yuzu.
Johnny's Jr. research: How do you use your Otoshidama? (new year's gift, usually money)
"Shopping"
Kyomoto: I don't buy clothes or accessories but I would buy stuff related to music. I already have too many guitars so I will buy an effector.
"Saving"
Hokuto: Yeah~~ I guess I will save it up. When I was young, I would use it all for things I want, but right now I want to save it.
Kouchi: Save it probably. Receiving Otoshidama itself is like "commemoration" I think. I still keep the pochi bags that come with it.
"Food"
Jesse: Go eat out with my Juniors I guess. Surely, I'm gonna treat them! The ideal is with 3-4 people though...... would also be good if it's fast food lol
"Others"
Shintaro: Go shopping and buy whatever I like, also use it freely whenever I want to you use it!
Juri: I don't spend a lot when buying things, so it's good if I just put it in my wallet and use it for ordinary life. Like for buy delicious food and stuff like that.
