Why did no one tell me that Tony Lucca was on The Voice? I watched it on a whim, and then was like, "Tony!" And I'm unsurprised that Christina didn't recognize him. She hasn't seen him since she was, what, 12? Although I love the bit about Britney having a crush on him.
Also popslash-related: When I moved from Bowling Green, I had a set of DVDs of stuff I'd downloaded from the Footage Project, which I then promptly lost in the move home and then the move to the new house. So, imagine my surprise when I opened up boxes from my recent move from Claremont and found a bunch of the DVDs. I thought I was going to have to beg, plead, and bribe to get some of this stuff for my dissertation.
There is Armagedd'nsync! And three Making the Videos! And, most importantly, Spring Break! I still want to know what Lance was on during that shoot. Because they were all worse than Panic at the Disco's totally blazed antics during the Pretty Odd era, and they were a band marketed towards 8-year-olds.
And to round out this popslash/dissertation post, I started reading
The Hit Charade. It's fascinating and well-written, but it's written by someone who doesn't like pop music, so there's this layer of smug that's really off-putting.
