Sis-in-Law came over last Tuesday and said, "I expect you to entertain me." So I showed her the first episode of Sherlock. Dad was there also, and I was worried that together they would ruin it, because we're a family of ruiners (Dad and Sis-in-Law always tell you how the show or movie is going to end, Rod says that of course he knows, but doesn't want to spoil it for you, and I'm generally unimpressed with everything. We're awful people to watch anything with.)
But Sis-in-Law loved it. And then when the kids came over Thursday, we watched another episode. Saturday involved three more (We skipped Scandal in Belgravia, because they're twelve.) And now everyone's mad at me because they have to wait another year for more. Mission accomplished. And J has a crush on Benedict Cumberbatch, in her continuing evolution into Mini-Me. Also, she said, "Did Sherlock have a boyfriend in the original stories, too?" Best kids ever.
Next step, make Sis-in-Law listen to Benedict Cumberbatch's
rendition of "Ode to a Nightingale."
