I get so wrapped up in the whole "raising an awesome baby" thing that I sometimes forget to voice my graciousness enough. And this whole experience of motherhood has shown me not only my own strengths and gifts, but the generosity, love and strength of my friends and family. So, here's some Thank Yous I have meant to say, but keep getting distracted from. And I'm sorry if I forget a few.
thewrongtim - Thanks for being the best husband and father ever. I know that both of us are run-down, sleep deprived and kind of wandering about like wizards from Unseen University (I'm Ridcully, I called it), but you seriously are my strength and compliment on this planet. I keep reading online about horrible husbands who don't care about their babies or leave their wives to do all the "women's work," but you are truly a partner to me. And way better at this whole being organized/parenting thing than I am most of the time :)
beezersis - You are the best sister ever. Thanks for letting me vent to you about all the frustrations of motherhood and for backing me up on breastfeeding at family events. Also, thanks for getting addicted to Twilight with me and talking about how these ridiculous vampire boyfriend books make us feel like goofy teenage girls. And thanks for always being the best Aunt Fimmy, for always giving so graciously and not expecting anything in return. And for Rock Band. Man, we both sing so good.
jane_stclaire and
veins_of_ink - I have meant to post a thousand times about how wonderful you two are. I will never forget how you brought us snacks at the hospital, or how you cleaned our craphole of a house and left all sorts of comforting presents as a surprise for when we got home from the hospital. I seriously was moved to tears and feel like the luckiest friend ever. La, thanks for taking me on my first "night out" as a mommy to see Twilight and enjoy sparkly vampire peen. Thanks you two for the countless times you let me come over and hang out with Story, so I didn't get too lonely on my leave. And the Scrubs marathon... and and... you know.
kazoogrrl - Thank you so much for picking up so many Kallisti responsibilities for me. You always were the most leader-like out of the three of us, but you've really heaped on so much and I appreciate it. Taking over my classes, updating the MySpace, keeping up performing with Noralita and all the other things you do on top of having to work so hard at your real life job... you're just awesome. And for hanging out and bringing me delicious salad, pumpkin pie cookie things and such. You're a great friend.
noralita - That pink bottle of champagne was a wonderful tiny luxury. Thanks for also visiting in the hospital and for hanging in there with Amy while I was MIA from Kallisti. You really have grown so much as a dancer, it's so awesome just to watch you. I think Lily has also helped there. I can't wait to dance with you and A more in the coming year. Thanks also for all of your support and asking me about my boob health :)
KALLISTIS IN GENERAL: Thanks for bearing with me as I struggle to find the balance between mother and dancer. You guys put up with a lot of "OMG must stay home baby is X" and I really appreciate it. Also, thanks for being as excited about me coming back as I am to dance with the both of you again.
marinatempest - Thank you so much for lunch dates and hang outs. I know we didn't get to see each other a ton, but chinese food and Millionaire Matchmaker time was fabulous. Also, thanks for the Crafting Tea that literally saved my sanity. I was feeling very shut in, ugly and stressed out. Your tea made me feel all pamped, girly and normal again :)
sihaya09 - That pesto lunch was so fabulous. I still dream of it and those dang Trader Joe's cookies that I can't eat now. :) Thanks for walking over and hanging out with miss Story, Tim and I. And for being so darned cute while holding Story and giving me some mommy relief time. You're gonna make one helluva mom when you decide it's time!
wasabi_poptart - That amazing knitted blanket is still the most beautiful gift I think we've received! Miss seeing you!
sassysistat - Thank you sweetie for stopping by and hanging out with me while I was recovering. I enjoyed our Princess Diaries semi-watching, musing about life, babies, dancing and being hot mommas. Also boobies. Thank you SO MUCH for linking me up with your mom for watching Story, I feel so blessed. And thank you for being a great friend and mommy role model. I look at you and am just astounded by how much you do. Entrepreneur, professional, mother, pro bellydancer, good friend. You rock!
vickska241 - Thanks for the football watching and making that kickass pumpkin bread. OH and the Dunkin' Donuts run. I seriously think we deserve our dollar back. And that Starbucks lady??? SHEESH! PS- We should have a Superbowl hangout!
And I'm sure I'm missing some. Just because I didn't call you out, doesn't mean I'm not thankful. But my mommy brain gets the better of me. Y'all are awesome and I'm just feeling really lucky to know ya!
