I wonder if there is anything resembling customer service these days? Do companies value their customers? It doesn't seem like it.
Last week, while we were working at getting the Redwater house ready for sale we had an "alarm event" at our acreage. ADT called, Hubby went home and everything was fine. So Hubby called ADT and scheduled an appointment to have the motion detector in the basement checked. The appointment was for today, between 8am and noon.
At noon, I called ADT because no one had showed up. I was informed that our appointment was for between noon and 4pm. I told the person I was speaking to that wasn't correct and when they checked further they discovered that the appointment had been changed. Unfortunately, I was not informed of this fact. strike oneI wasn't all that upset that the appointment had been changed, things happen, but quite angry that ADT had not bothered to contact me to let me know. I did get a lot done around the house in the morning, but had to reorder my day because now I was going to have to wait for the technician into the afternoon.
I was forwarded on to someone else, and was again informed after they checked further that my appointment was changed. It seems that the technician originally assigned to the job wasn't qualified to work on our system. Come on people, you are supposed to be monitoring our house, and you can't assign the correct technician? strike two
I asked to speak to the supervisor and was given a number to call as he wasn't picking up his phone. I called the number and left a message. The message still has not been returned. strike three A technician showed up about 1:30 adjusted the motion detector in the basement and checked the one on the main floor. I suspect that he had been directed to come to here before some other calls as I was third on the list when I asked when I could expect the technician.
I value my time but it would seem that ADT does not seeing that they didn't inform me of the appointment change, nor are they interested customer service, as my call wasn't returned. Very disappointing. I'm wondering if we should change alarm companies.
Maggie and I did get out for a walk although it was very humid and the mosquitoes were persistent. Even with Skin So Soft (from Avon) on (it normally repels mosquitoes and has no deet which can make the dogs sick) they were still biting. It didn't rain today, but there is more rain in the forecast for overnight and on Thursday. I'm beginning to feel like I'm on the west coast instead of on the prairies. As least with rain, the mosquitoes stay away.
Vent finished.
I shouldn't complain. I am truly blessed. I have my health and my family is healthy. I'm married to a wonderful man and have two terrific daughters. We have a beautiful home and life is good. Most of all, I know that God loves me and that I am saved.
