It's been a while since I last posted anything other than my thankful list.
Living on an acreage has certainly been a learning experience. Before moving out here I had only a passing knowledge of septic systems. In fact I had no idea there were different types. Since our septic field failure
November 9th I've learned a lot. I'm no expert but compared to what little I knew previously I can certainly discuss the merits of one system over another with anyone asking questions.
Then the saga of our in floor heating not working correctly. I've done research online, and learned a little about the heat anticipator in thermostat, zones and loops from the service people that have been here sorting things out.
Along the way there has been lessons learned on power panel surge protectors, how computers and routers on wireless high-speed broadband behave differently when there has been a power bump or the system goes down. I have a cheat sheet on the steps and the correct order things must connected to the system when the power is back on. Before that I had to relearn going online using dial up.
When we moved out here I was a little concerned because this house is very different than anything I had lived in before. I'm glad that I've added to my knowledge base I just wish each experience didn't take away from bank balances.
I finished my Christmas gift shopping this week. I still have two stockings to make and some little gifts to put together but I'm hoping I'll get everything done. I might have a couple of late nights but that's okay. I put the first coat of paint on the walls in our guest room. Tomorrow I hope to get the second coat done so that when Hubby gets home we can put the curtain rod up and set the room up for my Mom's visit just after Christmas. Going over my mental list just now has me a little stressed with regard to the number of things I've got to do. I had better make an actual list tomorrow so I don't forget things.
Except for church on Sunday I am planning staying home to make some real progress. Gah! I just realized that Christmas is only 6 days away. Unless I get my act together this will be my last post until after Christmas Eve.
Merry Christmas everyone!
