Everything went well at my appointment today. I went in at 2pm and didn't get out of there until 5:15 or so. They were able to find the baby's heartbeat, though we couldn't hear it. I'm still doing good and haven't had any problems, which is awesome. My first appointment isn't until next Friday the 29th, and I'm really anxious and nervous about it, probably like most women are when they go to their first appointment. I'm so excited I can barely contain myself. I took a at home test this morning, because I just have had symptoms of breast tenderness for so long, and I've had some cramping with no bleeding. I found out today that they're having a girl. I wanted to cry. She said "yeah, we found out we're having a girl", and I said "yeah, I heard from Angie." I didn't congratulate her or anything. I'm at work first thing this morning, and my bosses boss, Mary Kay, comes into our work area and starts asking Jen all these questions about her appointment yesterday, does she know what sex the baby is yet, talking about how fun it is to buy all the cute baby clothes...and I'm sitting there trying not to cry.  Michael and I are now actively trying to conceive. We are sick of waiting for the right time, and we know there will never be a perfect time to begin with. My diabetes is under really good control, and we just feel that this is the time to start the next chapter of our lives together. It's been a while. Michael and I went to Arizona over Thanksgiving and visited my parents. It was awesome. My parents took us to the Grand Canyon, which, if you haven't been there, cannot be described in words. Even pictures and video footage can't capture it's beauty. It was so. so. awesome.
