My weekend with Jessica....

Jessica's friend, Judd, was really helpful. It was quite a project for him getting those mirrors off of the walls. I would have never thought it would be that much work and leave that much damage on the walls, so I will think about that when we go to finally buy our own house! We painted Little Gray's room, made dinner and breakfast, chased after the kids, talked a lot, drank coffee, had some wine, hung some pictures and made some necklaces. Pictures follow in the cut!

We had a good time this weekend and managed to be productive at the same time! If you click on the images, it will take you to full sized pictures of the necklaces.

The kids had a great time. This is a picture of Marshall, the younger of Judd's two boys. He is 4 years old. The other son, Maxwell, is 9 years old. They were both really well behaved children.

I brought almost all of my beads over to the house. I told Jessica before that the reason why I do not make jewellery anymore is because I am overwhelmed by my collection, and I think she now understands that. This necklace she made out of coffee bean jasper, red picture jasper, garnet, bali silver and karen hill tribe silver. Gorgeous!

I am starting to see a pattern here. She really is creative, and I think I might be a little jealous of that. Fortunately, she doesn't seem to mind that I have borrowed from her styles. I hope she finds it flattering;0) This one is made out of artistic paintbrush jasper, chinese red jade, carnelian, red freshwater pearls and red tiger eye. Looks even better on than it does in the image!

She was talking to Judd on the phone before we started to make jewellery, and she asked him was colour he liked today. He said forest green. That's a funny thing because that is one colour that I have the least of in my collection. So, Miss Ressica decided that she would make him a piece of jewellery. She did a wonderful job making a masculine piece. It is often hard to make a masculine beaded necklace. This one is made of kambaba jasper, moss agate, bloodstone and hematite.

She managed to push out three pieces of jewellery, while I failed to produce as much - go figure. It's my collection, but I have the hardest time figuring out what to do with it;0) I love jasper, and in my collection, I have more jasper, chalcedony and agate than any other stone types. These really are my favourites. I made the pendant using sterling silver wire, and the necklace is comprised of karen hill tribe silver, picture jasper, lemon chrysoprase and brown zebra jasper. This is the first piece of jewellery that I have made since the night before my wedding.

Little Gray made a necklace, too, but we forgot to take a picture of that. I will get one next time that I am over. Aedan started to make something, but it ended up that the bead he was using was inappropriate for a bracelet. Once I realised that, he got frustrated and gave up. He had a great time over there, though. He and Gray played quite well together, and they only bickered once. That is pretty impressive for an 8 and 9 year old!
