WTF?

wayfinder38 complained of feeling fatigued all weekend. He slept a lot and was running a low grade fever. We decided to call his urologist first thing Monday to request a change of antibiotic as the Cipro did not seem to be working. I am angry because I told them that the antibiotic had not gotten rid of the UTI as he kept getting one every 2 to 3 weeks.

wayfinder38 phoned this morning and was told the Dr. would get back to him. This afternoon the resident phoned to tell us he has MRSA and he needed to get started on a different antibiotic right away. WELL DUH!

She did say the test showed it should respond to the new antibiotic. If it doesn't he may have to be hospitalied for IV anitbiotics.

I think this has been rumbling in his system for months now. The first episode was right after his BCG treatment in June. I don't know if he picked it up in the Dr. office or when the nephrostomy tube were installed. It is truly amazing he can still function with his system under constant attack from infection and cancer.

I sure hope this does not delay any cancer treatment it has gone far too long with out any treatment except the lung surgery.

Stay out of hospitals if at all possible.
