Oh how Albel missed his body. There can be no substitute that would compare to his. Hie every movement was accompanied with a strength that no ordinary body could muster. Albel was suddenly full of life and not even the dull pain in his left arm could ruin his night. The Crimson Scourge had returned and he was marking that day with blood. He descended upon the shadows that haunted Aegean and unleashed everything that he had against those creatures just for the pure sport of it.
There was something to be said about being the person you were born into being. By no means was Hyrule's queen born into the body of a male Sheikah, but the results wound up the same. Sheik was a part of her, as much as Zelda was a part of him. Playing two separate people, however, was more of a chore than anything. His female counterpart had never believed using Impa's gift would result in something to be used later. After the end of Ganondorf, he thought that was the end of it. Now he was being used again and nearly on a nightly basis.
One hand held onto the edge of the gutters for the roof of the library. His feet pressed the arches flat against the masonry and with his free hand, Sheik held the nails and pins he used to generally take down the various shadows of the underworld. It seemed that he wasn't needed much, however, in the evening. He found his red eyes resting upon the one who seemed more overcome by rage. It was likely a result of Aegean's way of playing with its inhabitants.
A side-note in the brochure that described 'paradise'.
As Albel expected, the creatures fell without so much as a fight, leaving his lust for battle unsatisfied. Killing the small fry was entertaining, but he disliked having to trounce upon these weaklings for too long. Surely there must be a challenge for him to pursue that was even worth of his time. With the last of the shadows gone, Albel turned to head back to the dorms, but something was bothering him. He could feel a presence somewhere around him and couldn't help but feel that he was being watched. He eyed his surroundings suspiciously before he noticed a figure up on the rooftop, hanging onto the gutter. To Sheik's crimson eyes, Albel answered with a smirk and leaped at the building, using his claw to dig into the walls and scale the library up to the rooftop.
Sheik didn't feel anything remarkably off about this man... woman... thing that seemed to seek joining him. Of course, he wouldn't be doing it in the same fashion. Sheik was made for wall-climbing and he was very much at home. It was a typical gesture for him to take when he wasn't on his feet and using his whip or his bow. As a result, he didn't seem to have words to offer. A man hidden well by bandages, however, wasn't one who revealed much of any sort of facial expression. As a result, the most Albel would receive was a furrowing of the blond eyebrows. Perhaps it was meant to be encouraging. Perhaps it was meant to be neutral. Whatever it was, Sheik made no effort to move a muscle or to turn Albel away.
Albel reached the top, hanging onto the top with his claw embedded into the side of the building, face-to-face with this new stranger. He didn't look like anyone that he had ever seen on campus. He would have definitely noticed someone looking like this...man? Woman? Even the androgynous Albel didn't even know.
"Now what are you doing hiding all the way up here when all the fun is down there?" he smirked.
The only thing Albel would have seen would be the eyes that met his, and likely not too different in color. He wasn't familiar with the man, or rather feminine-looking one that was faced with him now. His head tipped forward and Sheik shook it vaguely. Subtle actions were better than those that stood out. Most likely. Sheik wasn't the type to put forth actions unless he really needed to. "You seemed to be doing fine alone."
"But those weaklings are starting to bore me..." he hissed in a low whisper, sounding like a snake with his eyes on his prey. "I'm more interested to see what you have to offer."
"I have no interest in extending my abilities toward you or anyone here who does not pose the threat as the shadows of evening do," Sheik replied quite succinctly. The hand holding onto the gutter of the library's roof tightened and with surprising ease, his feet propelled his body from the wall of the building, and landed upon his feet, tucking away his pins and needles all the while.
While Albel was agile, he was no match for Sheik's natural grace. He released his hold upon the roof and quickly slid down with his claw on the wall to slow his descent. "Get back here!" Albel called out. "Are you to turn away from a challenge, maggot?"
Sheik lowered his hands as he brushed himself off. Then one hand rested upon his hip and the other remained at his side. Not limp, but prepared if he needed to be. Of course, chances were any physical assault attempt would result in evasion. He paused deliberately and then turned to face Albel, "A challenge is only a challenge if acknowledged by all members of the participating party. It should be pretty obvious that I don't acknowledge it."
Albel jumped the rest of the distance down, landing a few feet away from his would-be challenge. The strangers words mocked him and offended the Crimson Scourge deeply. A challenge from Albel meant that he acknowledged his opponent's strength, that he would humble himself and ask for the privilege to fight him. To have his challenged turned down was the biggest insult to his pride that could happen.
He gritted his teeth and gripped the handle of his katana. "Worm, I won't accept that as an answer!" he growled and dashed towards the masked man.
He was serious. This man was really serious, and now Sheik knew it was a man. Well, he knew the moment he heard the voice. Sort of. It was questionable, really. Up until he wanted to speak with the Sheikah up close, which wasn't going to happen. Sheik's ability to think and his experiences before were what allowed him to do what he needed to in these sorts of situations.
"It's a bit unfortunate, but that's all you're getting." Perhaps it was the compassion of his counterpart. She knew this man. Albel Nox, he heard in brief explanation. Though they were of similarities, they could not always be the same of mind and body. Their memories were not always the same. In fact, Sheik only seemed to recall Zelda's memories of the Hero after he was discovered. That wasn't the same following. Not when Zelda retained her abilities.
His hand reached for the whip hanging at his waist. A quick flip of the wrist, it grasped onto the gutter from when he came and he pulled himself in the direction, lowering to one knee as he turned to face Albel.
Albel in his frustration swung his sword furiously and summoned emanations of his magical energy, red crescent beams, after his fleeing opponent. However, the beams were too slow and wouldn't be able to get to him in time judging by how fast the man was moving. "...Damn it!"
Sheik was not moved by this. Not by the language, which seemed so rough on his ears. Not by the clear distaste in his voice. Not in the expression he likely held. "Will that be all? I must be off. The night is to be cut short, as is this hour. You can remain here doing as you like to the population of opponents, but I have places to be." And he rose to his feet again, his left hand curling his whip and hanging it at his waist.
Albel's eyes narrowed, his claws clenched into a fist. He was not one to be made a fool of! "Ignore me and I *will* find you, maggot. Mark my words, you will regret it if you leave," he growled threateningly.
"Then it looks like you and I will be crossing paths again," Sheik nodded in a somewhat factual manner. He shook his head at the other man, "Though I would rather not the company of barbaric people. I will simply need to have some mercy on you. It seems she doesn't want something to befall you." His right hand reached for the satchel he carried and withdrew from it an item that looked similar to a coconut. With a firm grasp upon it, he tossed it to the ground and used the diversion and the flash of blinding light to make his graceful exit.
Albel shielded his eyes from the brilliant flash and by the time his eyes readjusted to the darkness, the man was gone. How dare he make such a fool out of himself? And what the hell did he mean by 'she'? Whatever. He was going to make good on his word...wherever he liked it or not.
It was at the doors to the Adriatic Hall that Sheik stopped. His expression hardened and he shook his head with disapproval. It was a shame that he would only show himself at night. What of Vahn and their promises to go fishing together? Well, he was at the princess's compassion as well. Looking around once, he surveyed the environment and when he believed no one was watching, a hand lifted and in a shower of light, he became his other half, the young lady in such foreign garb. Then she showed herself into the halls and closed the door after her, but not without sparing a thought for Albel.
